I don't know much about this site, but it has a pretty clear explanation which seems to jibe with my limited understanding of the issue:
Edited because the board stole my jibe and transformed it into a jib. No way did I type "seems to jib"!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I've seen it used for pretty much anyone who comes to the US from Spanish-speaking countries (other than Spain), and their descendants, and for people from the Southwest whose families have been in the US for generations and are a mix of Native American and the Spanish settlers. (And people in the second group I know tend to get irritated when people ask them questions like "When did your family come to the US?" -- the answer is, "My family didn't come to the US, the US came to us.")
Babyfras!!! Congratulations, Sparky (and DH).
We don't have any Dutch or, uh, Netherlandish Buffistas, do we? (I have some vague idea that Dutch is offensive to some people, but maybe I'm making that up.) I'll be at the Amsterdam airport for 8 hours on Christmas. Yay!
Oh, that didn't get worked out, Emily? That sucks.
Well, it used to be 12. Plus this ends up giving me an extra day in Egypt, so I'm not complaining -- from what I hear, it's not like being stuck in LaGuardia for 8 hours (which must be some circle of hell).
Oh, and there's a spa! Of course, it might not be open on Christmas itself.
Oh, ok. That is slightly better.
And there's a Silence Center! Which seems to be their version of a chapel, but I don't mind. My mother often goes to airport chapels to grade during layovers.
In principle, all services are in English.
Hee. Oh goodness -- I could even get a hotel room for a couple of hours or -- get this! -- just a shower! Bless you, Dutch airport logic.
That one's easy. If the neighbors have more than one person in their family, they assign someone to wait for the guests in the lobby. If it's just one person, then he or she goes down to the lobby at the time when the guests are supposed to arrive to let them in. It's what pretty much everybody in that situation does. It's not like there has never been a religious family living in a building without a doorman before.
I'm a little confused as to why this isn't happening.
