'Objects In Space'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Actually, if you could get me over my near phobia of algebra, that would be awesome. Because I NEVER understood it, I scraped through all my algebra-related classes by clinging to "when in doubt, X = 8", and I still mildly freak out when confronted with mathy stuff.
This is totally what I'm saying. A kind of "Here's why math is my boyfriend" demo!
On the one hand, I did manage to give an intro to calculus to a bunch of teachers, many of whom hated math, and they loved it. On the other, I tried to help vw with her algebra, and she didn't love it. So I guess my love of math can't conquer all.
For example, it apparently can't teach these kids how to do percents. Le sigh. Now I head home and hope my new game came today! And also, ahem, go to bed very early. Because my wonderful thank-god-I-don't-have-to-be-fully-awake first period planning will be full of faculty study group tomorrow.
My old neighbor in Columbus taught some interesting classes at OSU--Women of the bible and Jewish history. I would LOVE to take them. She was an interesting lady. I miss her.
I would also take archeology, astrophysics, philosophy, film history, oil painting, ceramics, playwriting, classical cultures, legal history and auto mechanics.
I would gladly help with math, I enjoyed math.
And I would like to re-take Organic Chemistry. It was my major, and I blew it off, and I'd love to re-take it in a world where I had nothing else to do, and could really enjoy it. Of course, I'm not sure where that world exists, exactly...it wasn't college, where I was busy partying and doing theater...and it's not NOW, where I have a LIFE...
My life which is NOT FUN today. Because after all the racing around this morning, I paused, and realized...I BLEW OFF MY SELF-EVALUATION, AND IT WAS TWO DAYS OVERDUE. OOPS. Well, that's gonna drop me down a point or two...
And I didn't do the colleague evaluation I was supposed to do. And now it's not on the system anymore, because it's overdue. Oops.
WHY MUST THIS DAY FEEL SO FRANTIC, DAMNIT?
but I kind of wish we could have a little "Math - WAY more fun than you remember" thing at a F2F sometime. We could play games, do logic puzzles, get all excited and enthusiastic over number theory and imaginary numbers, and generally try to reverse some childhood trauma.
I would totally go to that.
Ranty-cakes ahead:
I have finally figured out why I hate 6th graders and need to figure out how to correct their thinking. They think their exploratory classes = recess. Ummm...no. It is a class with a grade and work is expected. I reiterate this on almost a daily basis, and yet, they come in the next day with recess on the brain.
One of my classes gets it now. The other? NSM. They get mad for having to do actual work. Mad 6th graders don't know how to handle the emotion and turn into evilness. I don't know how to get it across to them that this is a class with academic expectations.
And, the fact that my head is full of snot and cold medicine isn't helping matters very much.
PEMBAS, baby!
Heh - Emmett introduced me to PEMBAS this year. Yeesh, I've got Math homework to do with him tonight. He was sick last week and we've got about three days to catch up, which will be about 50 or 60 problems, and they ain't arithmetic, baybee!
I would be thrilled to retake my college Shakespeare class with Prof. Turner, who was British and enthusiastic and a polymath and did all the voices. Would also love to do the classics course again. Great professor. And theater history - that was a fun course.
PEMBAS
PEMDAS? PEBKAC?
Hello fellow worker bees. I understand in the world of accounting, you get a lot of papers across your desk. But always calling me asking which account to charge something to when there is a spot from Fed Ex to list that, and I use it, is growing tiresome. If I got the invoice first, I'd happily circle it repeatedly. Alas, you get it first. So kindly look in that box.
"Gee, I don't know. What does it say in the box? Okay then." t click
PEMDAS
That might be it. Parentheses...E-something to do with powers...multiplication...division...addition...subtraction.
