Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Lot of opposition in DC, only 7 supporters. 4 of them were individuals, but groups were Catholic Bishops , Family Research Council, and some group called Concerned Women of America, who gave a disturbing 409K.

I'm not even going to look at support in VA.

Okay, I had to look in VA, and I was pleasantly surprised 56 for, 447 against.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Concerned Women of America

This is Beverly LaHaye's group. Not a big surprise there.

brillig

In Utah's defense, I'd like to point out Bruce Bastian, who's listed as putting up over a million dollars in opposition. He's one of the founders of WordPerfect who came out a few years ago.

Granted, this resulted in his wife getting a humungous divorce settlement, which resulted in her building a humungous faux-chateau on the east side of town in a very average neighborhood, and people still drive past and stop and stare at it. It's a pretty house in and of itself, but the two fountains in front are over the top.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

MM, this is a bit late, but I love your YAP post. Love.

Checked out the Prop 8 contributers site. There are 57 from Alaska, but that includes a few that I'm pretty sure are actually Arkansas. It seems like more were against it, including the people I know. The big donations were for Prop 8 (boo), but they were from the ones that look like they're Arkansas, which makes me feel a little better.

In case you can't tell by my starting out with other topics, my mom is continuing to improve. She's tired and weak and cranky and her sense of time is a bit wonky, but she's talking more and has been sitting up and even out of bed with help. Thank you so much for all of the ~ma and support. You guys rock like a thing that rocks.

The last bit is xposty with Press, and probably LJ.

So much this. Thanks for screwing up my make-up yesterday. Jerk.

libkitty, I'm glad you're mom is continuing to improve. Great news!

Vortex, if you get me going again with the leaky eyes... I'll... I'll... I'll shake my wee fist in your general direction! When I'm not using it to wipe my eyes, that is.
