::forces Motown boxset thru tubes to Laura for kids::
OMG. The third company wants to talk to him today about an offer. Insane!!!
Hot Damn! That is AWESOME!!!!! (deserves extra !!! doncha think!) Woot!!! OK, a twist. Job-decision~ma for y'all. May you pick the job that appreciates his talents the best, pays fair wage, with good bennies and pleasant co-workers.
2nd meeting, the full company meeting, went as well as possible. The butchers bill:
4 folks that are leaving/have left positions will not be re-filled
3 folks got the axe today, a week before the holidays.
16 folks will be furloughed for about 6 weeks this summer.
omnis, it sounds like a helluva situation you're in-- you know, sometimes, just letting someone know you've got their back is all it takes. That and a large bottle of something soothing. IJS...
One of the positions that has been cut is the Ass't to my favorite boss that I followed. I had dinner with him tonight before the final dress rehearsal. Not knowing all that it takes to do Production Management, I offered my services to help with the menial stuff, like data entry or what not. He was very British stiff upper-lip and "oh I don't think that will be necessary, I think I'll manage", but I put the offer out again, and said let me know should it arise. And a little nod of the head and relaxed crowes feet was observed. Hopefully he got that very message. We got about 2 weeks more with his ass't. When he leaves, I'll be camped outside of his office to offer again.
Maybe I've been watching this bloody show too much, but I can't help thinking "God bless us, everyone of us" for surely in this time, we need it. Healthy, positive thoughts in these dark times ~ma for everyone.
Grrr. I am very annoyed. I spend a few days and a bunch of hassle transferring several shows from the HD tivo to the old tivo with the DVD burner. It was a pain in the ass because everytime I made a transfer, I had to restart the damned thing so I could transfer something else. I finally get all of them transferred, go to burn the DVD then find out that anything transferred can't be burned for "incompatibility" GRRR.
My diamond tivos are too tight.
I'll be sure and correct the wrong and educate them properly. I had threatened to embarrass him at the show by singing along, loudly.
Since we missed out on the show and Bobby was at the movies we went to a buffet instead where my son ate his weight in crab legs. I was more varied in my consumption including salad stuff and California rolls, too many fried noodles and a lovely variety of desserts. I'm not usually one for sweets, but I did tapioca, ice cream, brownie, pastry puff thing, and coconut things.
Tomorrow back to the office with the kids. I have plenty of Motown on my computer to school 'em.
My gas company has sent me a survey that includes the question "if you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?"
Huh?
I have plenty of Motown on my computer to school 'em.
Holy shit! Stuffing shit down the tubes actually worked???

Happy Saturday to all!
Oh, and as for Motown: apparently my dad loved it. When I went through his vinyls few months ago I was all "Dad! I never knew you were into Motown!". He replied with "what's Motown?", and I just pointed on 3 of the vinyls around me (Supremes, Aretha and Aretha and Marvin Gaye), "this".
Now I want a Buffista Motown collection. And go through some Stax shit.
