When we landed here you said you needed a few days to get space worthy again and is there somethin' wrong with your bunk?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yeah, I didn't mention it right away because of that. I feel SO stupid. And it was REALLY my least graceful move ever...right in front of my mom's office building. The parking attendant guy came running to help me. It was all so pathetic. AND I lost my really yummy coffee to the whole ordeal.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Thanks for the well wishes, folks! Tom is totally wiped out- pretty near non-functional yesterday after he returned home. I think knowing that the end is near has somehow permitted his total stress, anxiety, and exhaustion over the whole three month process come to bear.

Yes, this is a job that he is actually excited about.

Is he going to take it? To be decided? Are you guys celebrating this weekend?

There are 2 other companies that have indicated that they may have an interest in him, he was able to inform the recruiter of one of them about the offer in hand, but getting word to the other one (the one he had the second interview with yesterday) is sort of challenging, because he doesn't know who he would tell- it's not through a recruiter.

We will likely take it easy this weekend, because there's still some nervousness about who does what, if anything at all, but at least it's a whole new anxiety and a little easier to deal with. I am hoping things get settled by Thanksgiving.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

happy birthday sparky

Karl, I am so sorry -- too many times for you.

Steph, it makes sense to me that complaining too much doesn't help. Matt is a talker -- but I noticed that when he got to the point of constant complaining about work - he got more agitated and then I would get agitated and then he would get more .... In his case, it didn't mean stop -- but he had to stop or limit or add the good parts of the day into his complaints.

I'm getting the pig!

I feel SO stupid. And it was REALLY my least graceful move ever...right in front of my mom's office building.

Wha? Falling isn't stupid. Skateboarding down a railing, losing your balance, and crushing your hoo-ha for no good reason, now that's stupid. Last week I fell down the stairs at home, stairs that I've gone up and down a million times without falling, and I'm still not fully recovered. It happens, sweets. Besides, the ankle is beating you up enough without any further assistance. And it sounds like the kids will still get a shot at you later today. Good luck!

In my Thanksgiving Planning Obsession, I've decided that I don't have any recent pictures in my apartment (no, really. My most recent picture is like 7 years old; everything is on the web!), and I must rectify this NOW. So, I'm getting a bunch of pictures ready to print at CVS. I think I have a few empty frames I can use. But, really? These bizarre things that MUST be done before Thanksgiving need to go away. I mean, yes. There should probably be a picture of CBD and I in my apartment, so his family can see that yes, I love their son enough to have a picture of us in my apartment. But, goodness. Brain! You have enough to do!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Last week, DH admitted to me that he hadn't mailed a package I gave to him a few days before. I emailed him to ask him about the package and he responded with, "what package?"

Grrr. I hope, for his sake, that he mailed it.

I'm getting the pig!

In "I think this is a good thing, but I'm not positive" news... DF just told me that he bought us tickets to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on Dec 3rd.

On the one hand, he swears that they're awesome and that we'll have a great time. On the other hand, it's on a weeknight that I have to work the next day and we don't really have the extra money to be spending. So.

But it's done, so I should just be happy, yes? Hmph.

There should probably be a picture of CBD and I in my apartment, so his family can see that yes, I love their son enough to have a picture of us in my apartment.

Hee!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You'll have fun. They're kind of crazy over the top and cheesy, but entertaining. My sister played back-up with them one year - they had to have a four inch thick heat shield behind them because of all the pyrotechnics.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

vw! Tons of ankle~ma for you there. Toto better be extra careful, lest he sprain his paws too. Yikes. Ankle~ma to the whole household.

Karl, I feel your pain. sort of. I'm not on your ship, but I'm watching that ship from shore. The morning meeting announced there is a $300k shortfall this season. So, the two production folks who are leaving will not be replaced, and all of the production department below Dept Heads level will be furloughed for the summer. There will be a second meeting this afternoon to let us know who in admin will be cut loose. Also, a couple admin positions that were on the HR list will not be filled. The good news, no shows are being canceled. Bad news, folks are getting let go. Belts are tightening. Thankfully, I'm a Dept Head, so the move to Dallas wasn't in vain. Seems we are living the ancient Chinese curse of "May you live in interesting times".

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy birthday, Sparky!

Yay for Tom!

And now. Bitches, you're all having just too much lately. I don't like it. We deserve better.

Steph - with all that me being and feeling a newbie here and don't-really-know-all-of-these-people, I care. And hell, if little newbie me care and want you to live a better, less-panic-attacks stressful dysfunctional life, and really don't mind reading the things you're sharing if that's what make you feel better - I'm sure the others here don't mind either, to say the least. And what the rest of the wise Buffistas said.

And Karl - hi! I'm sorry to meet you under these circumstances. I hope for a big, bright future for you.

omnis - I'm not sure which time/day you've wrote the "help!" post, but I hope you got the distraction you wanted. I'll try to think of some sites to post here when times will be rough again. Anyways, good luck.

And, ya'll. Guess whose sister's commanding this weekend over a highly flammable piece of earth in Gaza Strip? Yeah baby, my sis. With all the stress and all, there are not enough words on the planet to say how fucking much I'm proud of her.

And now, dishes are calling me. Planning to watch Harry Potter 5 after it as a mind cleaner from half of the rain forest I have to read to university. Yay weekend!
