Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

population : 301 million

Those eligible to vote: 213 million

Votes: 120 million

All heavily rounded numbers. And votes are still being count.

(gosh, I hope my Gronk numbers estimate were close, seeing how we got some math whizzes in here)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

According to the LA country registrar prop 8 passed by a .9% margin, 20,806 votes.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Is there an automatic re-count for when the margin is below a certain percentage?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

According to the LA country registrar prop 8 passed by a .9% margin, 20,806 votes.

Laga, that has to be just for the county, right? Because statewide, it won bigger:

Yes 5,163,908 52.0%
No 4,760,336 48.0%

That was with 95% of precincts reporting.

Trust my rage

I heard on NPR this morning that 77% of eligible voters voted in my home state of Minnesota.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Seattle had two major street parties going last night, one on Broadway - the main street of Capital Hill, the young/gay district, and one on Pike which connects Capital Hill to Downtown.

Awwww. My smile just lighted up, because hey, I KNOW THESE PLACES. I landed in Seattle in the beginning of August 2007 and loved it, very very much. One of my top 3 places in that travel (the others were Portland and Los Angeles. NYC would probably make the list if I would stay there longer, but it still had the best food I ate on this travel).

And oh wow, Buffistas~ma sure is powerful. I can now move my upper lip more (still not 100% - more like 60%, with pain on some of those %), but hey, now I can see the stitches! Thank you guys. Only 22 more hours to go!

Great article on Michelle Obama from the London Times [link]

Favorite quote:

In the last American election, the big question was this: who would you most want to share a beer with? In this one, it was more like: who would you like to share a Martini with? The answer of course being Michelle. (Barack could maybe make himself useful by popping out for some crisps.)

“Not dead yet!”

Turning back to the fact that my house still looks like a tornado hit it, I've addressed the fact that cooler weather is coming and like many Florida homes, we don't have a coat closet.

Which is stupid, because it still gets damned cold here in N. Florida.

So I just ordered this coat rack.

Now, if I can only get the kids to actually put their jackets on it.

Yeah, I know, but at least I'm making an effort.
