ack! the Buffistas need to stay healthy and pain-free!
A few health notes - WS, when I get a sinus infection I usually get a raging sore throat from the post-nasal drip. Do you have anything you can use to rinse out your sinuses? (a nasal lavage in doctor-language) Warm salt water gargles help and, afterwards, hot tea with lemon and honey usually help me.
Sean, sorry to hear about all the misery you and S have been through - glad to hear she's home. And you CAN recover from a stroke - I'm at about 98% of what I was before. A little slower, my memory isn't what it was, but I'm doing well. It took me about six months before I was anywhere near better, and I was phenomenally lucky. Best wishes for both of you - and do take care of yourself.
And, on the lighter side, in re watches - I once had a little digital watch called a Digi-Robo. The watch part had a little cover that flipped off and it could be popped off the band and arms and legs unfolded so you had a free-standing robot. I had a lot of fun with that - the crystal display burned out or something. sigh.
Awww...WS, you're so sweet! Feel better, honey!
{{{beth}}} It is so hard losing a pet.
{{{Sean & S}}} Sounds like S got very lucky. I hope it holds for her. I also think the move closer to family is a very very very smart thing for her.
{{{WindSparrow}}} I hope you're feeling better soon!
You, too, ita.
The new place we're in has two sets of stairs that the cats LOVE to play on - the result being very furry stairs. Do those of you with stairs (and carpeting) just drag the vacuum up and down the stairs and use the attachment, or do you use a seperate hand held machine?
I've done both. My current "big" vacuum is a very light Eureka Optima - can lift it with one finger.
And, vw, I'm thinking your best bet is a Nike Oregon, or one of the Timex Expedition watches. I'm sorry, after a while, they all start repeating, and I haven't seen anything new in a quite a few pages/searches.

We have two vacuums that are fairly light, but I'm thinking a handheld for the stairs would be simpler. Easier that convincing DF's two black cats to shed somewhere other than the stairs, that's for sure. Hmm.
I love my Eureka Electrolux Ergorapido: [link] It's a handhold and does my stairs like a dream...as well as my hard-wood floors. I've been SO thankful for it. Target has the best price I've found. I think I even got it on sale for $79.99.
Ergorapido
That sounds like a last name. "Hello. I am Hector Ergorapido. May I clean your floors?"
I just grabbed a slice of pizza and a salad from the cafe downstairs. In the elevator, one of the professors says to me, "Jeez, how many people are you going to feed with that!"
I gave him a moment of silence, to see if he would apologize, then I laughed and with a wide grin told him not to expect an answer next time he emailed me with a question.
Dear Professors: I humor you in lots of ways, but if you're going to be rude don't expect me to stand there and take it.

Huh? From one slice of pizza and a salad?
"Hello, I am Ergorapido Montoya and you killed my father."
