I take Claritin every day. At this point, I think what happened is that the smoke caused irritations, the irritations got inflamed and infected, and that's why it got worse after a few days.

The new place we're in has two sets of stairs that the cats LOVE to play on - the result being very furry stairs. Do those of you with stairs (and carpeting) just drag the vacuum up and down the stairs and use the attachment, or do you use a seperate hand held machine?
