It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sean, it is indeed good news that S. is out of the hospital and on the way to recovery. I hope the relocation works out smoothly.

How do I respond to a total scam from Craigslist? This is the guy's e-mail to me:

Thanks for the prompt response. I have instructed my account officer to mail (overnight) a certified check, while you hold this item for me. Let me know when you receive the check and I will have my mover will come pick up at your place. Please forward me the following info so I can issue your check . . .

1.Your full name

2.Your mailing address(Physical as Ups does not deliver to P.O.Box}

3.Your phone number.

** Please note that I will overnight the payment, and you should receive it tomorrow. I appreciate you holding this for me. Please delete the posting as I am definitely buying it from you and it would be sad for me to have the payment in the mail only to be informed of the its sale**

I'm tempted to say, "Um...no way. I'm not stupid enough to fall for this."

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

HMOG, I am so unable to express myself eloquently (ETA read: AT ALL) in this class- we are discussing racial discrimination in education and I have a hard time getting beyond "but it's... WRONG!" mostly because I am feeling unwell.

But I think I made an ass of myself in class. the (mostly white) class has been pretty cautious in our discussion and I kinda busted out a little bit.

Oh, those are always tense classes, Nora. We had one (or several) of those in my tutoring seminar. In fact, they became known as the "tense classes."

I just feel kind of foolish and inarticulate. Frustrating.

Ooh, now other people are being careful and tense. I feel better.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I've gotten those almost every time I've had something for sale on Craig's List or the local classifieds. I just ignore them.

I'm so glad to hear from you, Sean.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Sean, thanks for the update. I've been thinking about y'all.

How are you doing these days? What you have been through is horrible and I hope you are taking some time to care for yourself.

She's not actually blind -- she can see out of that side just fine if she closes her right eye, but she has no peripheral vision on her left side, and even things right in front of her face can "disappear" on her if they are on her left at all.

My dad is like this from his strokes. If pushed, he can see out his left eye, but he has to be pushed. And, stuff on his left is totally gone for him, too.

It can be fairly amusing to approach him from the left and kiss his cheek. He jumps. And, possibly, I'm a horrible daughter for finding that amusing.
