Heh, I have done that exact thing with the glass, Hil. Usually I notice before getting to the breaking point though. Habit of always putting the glass in the same spot.
{{CBD and vw}} No fun.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

DH just got back to the office and I told him I got the missing step from the Buffistas. He asked if it was Hil that helped me out. I didn't realize he paid that much attention when I told him about you guys.
Ooh, algebra fun!
Laura, I'm not sure how you got to x² - 2x = 3 in that problem, but I think you're making the problem more complicated than it needs to be. Convert each term in the original so that they all have the common denominator of 4(x+1), then the rest is easy.
Thanks! I'll make him look at it that way.
He is now onto i imaginary number stuff that is causing him to check out the rafters for hanging a noose. He mumbled something about discriminates, but he was fairly incoherent. He's working through it on his own now. Searching out tutorial links on line. He only comes to me when desperate.
::thanks the gods again that husband is ABD in biostatistics and epidemiology, which means he gets to help the kids with math forever more::

Hee. Discriminant. If a quadratic equation is ax^2 + bx + c = 0, the discriminant is b^2 - 4ac. If the discriminant is negative, then the equation has complex roots.
See, that's what I was saying! Incoherent! But he is reading stuff over there.
I'd call the vet, cats not eating for over 24 hours can be bad they lose weight too fast.
We caved and gave him a bowl of dry food which he gobbled up. He played us!
Yikes vw. That sucks!
I just found out Clint Black did a cover of Monty Python's The Galaxy Song a couple of years ago.
That is so many serious kinds of awesome, I have tears in my eyes. Seriously. I love it. But I'd love to hear a full country-fied version.

Silly kitty! No doing that right now, though! Mom and Dad have enough stress!
