Deena, much car~ma to you.
'Never Leave Me'
Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
you could also ask an eastcoaster to make the call. It's only five hours for us.
Oooooh, that's a good point. Because while I'm mostly okay with the notion of the pet DJ ordering bras for me, I suspect Pete would be a trifle unnerved. (Because the pet DJ is a cheerful letch, and while he doesn't smarm at ME, perhaps I shouldn't ask him to order me undergarments.)
And to you, sj!
Thanks, Andi.
I just called the mortgage company to explain why the house payment is going to be late. They were surprisingly kind about it and all is well. Such a relief.
TCG's step-mother is going to meet us there. We've gotten this close to the election without discussing it. I'm hoping our luck holds out tonight.
oof, car~ma to Deena and sj. I'm glad the mortgage company was understanding.
I think Tom's interview went well. It's a 1 year contract job and the money would be less than ideal but it's at Haaavaaahhd and it's better than nothing, at this point.
He has another interview with a regular non higher education company this afternoon. He came back to my office to eat lunch (leftovers) and change his clothes and return some calls. It's tough to do 2 interviews in one day, the one he just had lasted well over 2 hours. So, continued job~ma and energy~ma for Tom would be most appreciated!
He has another interview tomorrow morning in the 'burbs (not the ones near us, unfortunately.)
I'm hoping our luck holds out tonight.
Oh yeah.
Jilli, I'm sure you know a million people who would order your undergarments for you, but I wouldn't mind doing it at all.
Oooooh, that's a good point
I'd be happy to call if need be. I love talking to English people ;)

He'll make all kinds of contacts there.
He'll make all kinds of contacts there.
Yep, that is the big upside. Once you're in, it's much easier to move around. Benefits are good too.
Exactly. A good computer guy/gal is worth their weight in gold at a university. If yours is really good, you try not to tell people or they'll try to poach.
I know temping at Harvard got me through a bad year until I got a job with my current company. Plus, your employee ID can get you into Widener Library. No lending privilages, but man what an awesome library to just soak up the atmosphere of.
