Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Laga, I'm glad you are willing to stand up for yourself and do what you need to to stay sane, safe and happy.

I'm saving that link for later. I can't watch Youtube at work, but I did have some cute overload therapy earlier that seemed to help.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I have pictures up finally. I didn't take a lot, I meant to but then I'd get distracted -- here's the Vermonter on the beach -- [link]

I say this as someone whose beloved brother has become a fully integrated Vermonter -- SLNRLBF *totally* looks like a Vermonter! I could have picked him out of a crowd.

But the more important thing is that he looks very sweet (how does someone "look sweet"? I have no idea, but he does to me), and he looks smitten with you, and YOU look very happy.

Tep, just want you to know that I am not sending hugs through the interwebs because I learned my lesson in DC, but you know I want to.

Ha! I appreciate both the minimum clear distance as well as the desire to hug!

Most of the day I was exceedingly tired, and the only way to describe how I felt was to say I was having a "panic attack hangover." I just felt fuzzy and kind of grey all day, although I rallied and sallied forth, because....

Back from a LONG day of kink-related presentations/demos and then a big party, as well as 2 (count 'em) meals at Macaroni Grill (lunch and dinner; it was the closest restaurant and, well, they have good bread).

Prolly a longer day than I needed, but it was more or less good, and I talked to some interesting people, and saw too many naked asses and penises (SRSLY; I will never get used to that, I swear). One woman got a "corset" piercing on her back, where 10 rings are pierced down her back, 5 on each side, and then ribbons are laced through it. Very gorgeous. I'd like to try it, but tonight was not the night.

Fewer real corsets at the party than there normally are, and *definitely* fewer than there are at the standard Buffista F2F. It was weird. But many more naked penises -- did I mention?? -- than there are at Buffista F2Fs (unless things have changed radically since the last one I made it to).

I got my ass beat thoroughly, and, although it may seem counterintuitive, I think it helped snap my mood. It's not the beating as much as it's the endorphins afterwards, I think. I mean, the proof will be in how I feel tomorrow (other than a very sore ass, and let me just say that I am sitting carefully right now), but I honestly think it helped.

Of all things, right?

t edit And sorry if that was TMI, but I'm both amused and bemused at the ability of a solid pummeling to snap an undesirable mood. (And there have actually been studies -- conducted by non-kinky people -- that corroborate that.)

(Also, if it was TMI, well, all I can say is it gives y'all a chance to [1] live vicariously through me if you so desire, and/or [2] make fun of my wicked past of self-described vanilla inclinations [which I really only claimed as a smokescreen because I was WAY too scared to even admit I was into this weird shit that involves getting flogged by a man in high heels and a leather corset].)

ION, tonight isn't Daylight Savings Time, is it? Because my VCR just set itself back, but my computer didn't. I trust my computer more than my (very old) VCR, which doesn't have updated firmware or anything.

Teppy, I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling a little better. In terms of DST:

Starting in 2007, daylight time begins in the United States on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. On the second Sunday in March, clocks are set ahead one hour at 2:00 a.m. local standard time, which becomes 3:00 a.m. local daylight time. On the first Sunday in November, clocks are set back one hour at 2:00 a.m. local daylight time, which becomes 1:00 a.m. local standard time. These dates were established by the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Pub. L. no. 109-58, 119 Stat 594 (2005).

Not all places in the U.S. observe daylight time. In particular, Hawaii and most of Arizona do not use it. Indiana adopted its use beginning in 2006.

In 2006, daylight time begins on April 2 and ends on October 29.
In 2007, daylight time begins on March 11 and ends on November 4. [New law goes into effect.]
In 2008, daylight time begins on March 9 and ends on November 2.
In 2009, daylight time begins on March 8 and ends on November 1.

Many other countries observe some form of "summer time", but they do not necessarily change their clocks on the same dates as the U.S.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

glad things are improved , Steph.

my costume should not have seemed that clever, but only laga calling me a sandwitch was better.

This is taking a very long time to type. I love parties where I grab my house key and a bottle of wine and come home with a key and a buzz.

Trudy, I just realized that I never responded to your post about your friend's son. That's excellent news. I'm so glad to hear he's doing so much better.

Beth is cute when she is tipsy.

The music next door has stopped. I wanted to get 20 comments done today, but it's looking like I will only finish 14. That leaves 47 to complete between now and when I go to sleep Monday night. Wish me luck.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Isn't it amazing? I keep tearing up.

I adore all you motherfuckers so much -- PMM.

Ha! I appreciate both the minimum clear distance as well as the desire to hug!

Then please allow me to add my sentiments to Vortex's, from a safe and non-threatening distance.

I think of you often, and with much fondness. And hooray for catharsis, in whatever form pleases you best.

You are still the bestest Teppy I will ever meet.
