Ahem. Pete, I'll have you know that a certain girl I'm seeing has a big issue with the "a" word. Especially after this other girl also (independently!) used it in reference to her.
It has been decided that instead of using the "a" word for her, I will refer to her, when I need to, as "awesome". She is never adorable she is only ever awesome.

YOu could try aversion therapy, meara. Instead of calling her adorable tell her she's cute. Tell her it a lot. See if she doesn't learn to love being adorable.
