I had a full hysterectomy about a year and a half ago, for stage IV endometriosis (frozen pelvis) plus big old painful fibroids and one annoying cyst (my female parts were all kinds of wrong). The thing is, with fibroids or endo the pain increases gradually, so you don't realize how damn much it's taking out of you. I had gotten to the point that--TMI--
not only was I bleeding through a super tampon every hour, the pain was so bad it was making me vomit.
Having the surgery was a big deal, but I actually gained more days in my month, so for me it was totally worth it.
Stupid trivia regarding my current work project.
Upon completion I will have used 17,150 sheets of paper. Stretched end-to-end, they would go 4.6 miles.
Oi.
hugs everyone tight, because everyone seems to be in need of it.
I ... I got nothin'. My brain isn't really working today. So I'll just go back to lurking in the background.
Can't I just show movies all year? My problem classes are so good when I show movies!
Big, huge, and extremely tender and cautious hugs to everyone's girlyparts. And, Scrappy, I remember how miserable you were the last few months before the surgery (and also how doting and lovely your DH was all through everything). I'm so glad the surgery was such a success.
Oh, Trudy, that's excellent news. I'll keep vibing for the whole family, for as long as they need it.
My mom is having a hip replacement Tuesday morning. Please send some of that famous Buffista-ma Texasward to ensure her surgery goes without a hitch. Soon, she'll have a bionic hip!
A ton of Texas-sized Surgery~ma for your Mother!
EEP! P-C, I kept meaning to send ~ma for your mom's bionic hip. My sister's had both knees replaced and she does better now than she ever did before, so let's hear it for the bionic parts!
I have spent a disturbing amount of time on this website today: [link] It's "Fine Lines", described as
Welcome to 'Fine Lines', the Friday feature in which we give a sentimental, sometimes-critical, far more wizened look at the children's and YA books we loved in our youth. This week, writer / reviewer / blogger Lizzie Skurnick reads . . .
(this past week was The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder)
Several of my obscure childhood favorites are on the list, as well as many well known books. I've had a fun afternoon reminiscing, thought that the Bitches might enjoy it as well.
Hip~ma for your mother, P-C! I had a boss whose 80-yo mum had a hip replaced and was bowling within a month. They truly are bionic these days.
Trudy, great news about the little boy! Lots more recovery~ma for him so he gets out of the hospital quick.
Vortex! What an excellent blog. I'm reading the
Wolves of Willoughby Chase
entry RIGHT now!
