Comcast sucks, sorry you are having trouble askye.
steph, healing ~ma and hairpats. It makes total sense for you to feel the way you do.
Java, much ~ma for you, too.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Steph, sorry to hear about the blow up. I'm sure the roid's didn't help. I understand where your father is coming from, trying to focus on the positive and all, but sometimes it just doesn't work. I got that all the time as a kid. "At least you don't have Duchene. Kids die from that". I'm sure that didn't have any effect on my psyche. No. So, take it easy if you can, and hopefully all those meds will continue to clear things up. Can the boy or you call back your father and mention the roid's and apologize? Not an excuse to do it, but an explanation of why? I dunno. Just an idea. Hopefully I'm not making things worse. I'll stop now.
In my world... To make up for the week of creepy Klan scenes and the heavy use of the "N" word with aggressive tones, they decided the sex tapes needed re-recording. Not that it makes up for it, but it helps smooth out the creepy bits, I suppose. I guess I should say, the creepy stuff fits within the show, and when you see it one time, will be very powerful. But doing it over and over again, as is the nature of technical rehearsals... ya, that is creepy.
Hoping tomorrow is my day off! I can pick up DVD's from the library, and mainline season 9 of SG-1 while resting and maybe cleaning. Mmmmm omelette and bacon. I can taste it already.

omnis, I have no idea where are you living/what are you doing for living, but now you got my attention.
I do sound for theater. I just moved to Dallas, TX for a new job a few months ago. We are working on a new play called "The Good Negro" set in USA 1962 civil rights era. It's a drama triangle between the "movement" folks, the FBI eavesdropping on everybody, and the KKK. So the "n" word is used a LOT, and gets me shivering each time, and there are a couple scenes with folks in Klan robes. Right now we are working the "riot" scene over and over and over. The sex scenes are where the FBI takes tapes of the Reverend, who is leading the movement, having sex with various gals, and sends the tape to his wife, in hopes of breaking them up to discredit him in the community. There are a lot of MLK, Jr shadows throughout the show.
Wow. It sounds intense, in more than one level (also in the level of you job).
And yes, if you're creating the sound, also very creepy.
Good luck!
I have no idea if this was posted here before, or even if that's the right thread to post it in, but: link.
I'm speechless. In a good way.
That's hilarious, Shir!

You're not making things worse. I'll call Dad later (if he doesn't call first), and things will be fine. I shouldn't have snapped, but he also needs a better bedside manner than "Well, at least you didn't get partially eaten by a shark."
While it's true that yes, things could always be worse, that sentiment doesn't work at making me feel better about what's *already* bad. I know it's *meant* to be a "look on the bright side!" kind of thing, but instead it smacks of "stop whining, emo kid." And you know what? I'm grateful that I can hear out of one ear and yet simultaneously be freaked out that the other one ain't working so good.
Narf.
Shir, I can see why you were speechless. OMGWTFPR0N!
Tep, sorry for the dramarama with you Dad. I find family tends to be the least sympathetic when sick and ailing.
Teh daughter's 15 minutes of fame: [link] There's actually two pictures, you wouldn't know it was her when the only one on the page is the back of her neck.
