I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Tired. Stop. Don't wanna teach anymore today. Stop.

Hyper 6th graders invading. Stop. Send help. Stop.

Passes banana-chocolate muffin to Chikat via interwebs, because it seems like she needs one

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I had another "progress report" meeting at work today, on whether or not I'm doing enough work, etc. I was all paranoid that mean!boss was going to tell me I hadn't been getting enough done (even though I had my own records to show that I've been doing a LOT), because she's just been giving off a really negative vibe lately (and I mean negative even for HER).

I was wrong -- they told me I'm doing great and I'm going back to 40 hours starting Monday.

!!!!

When this first went down, in July, I thought that the soonest I'd be even *considered* to go back to 40 hours would be October. (Actually, I think that's what they *told* me.) I guess I'm a better worker than they thought, huh?

This doesn't mean I'm not looking for other jobs; I definitely am. But the economy is sucking in these parts, and this means I at least get my full salary back to build up a nest egg and pay off credit card debt while I keep looking.

Lord, this has been insane.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Teppy! And continued ~ma in finding a job that will get you out of there.

JZ - Sep 23, 2008 9:40:52 am PDT #6391 of 10001
See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

That's fantastic news, Tep, but I'm afraid I still hate all their guts for jerking you around in such a shitbaggy way over the last couple of months.

Still, go you for making them suck it and eat all their nasty little words!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good for you, Tep! Welcome back to working Fridays with the rest of us chumps! Or is it that you get 10-hr days now?

(I always thought the wrongest thing about this - besides the whole wrongity wrong wrong of their perspective in general - was making a four-day work week something for you to stress about and suffer for, rather than celebrate. Because that should be a good thing, you know?)

“Not dead yet!”

That's fantastic news, Tep, but I'm afraid I still hate all their guts for jerking you around in such a shitbaggy way over the last couple of months.

I am JZ in this.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I guess I'm a better worker than they thought, huh?

More likely they finally realized that they were full of shit. Or that Mean!Boss had been jerking their chain about your supposed ineffectiveness.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Well you should have, because she probably never head that joke before.

Yes, and I've never heard Gilligan's Island references; gingerbread and ginger ale jokes; or jokes about doing something "gingerly." Now that I think of it, though, Gingerly would be a decent name for a blog.

Teppy, I'm glad you're going to get the pay back, but you are still working for crazy people. Buffistas need to be freed from crazy bosses.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

What JZ Said, with a heaping side order of What Vortex Said.
