[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

It's just so frustrating. FSU can't recruit the kind of top players they once did because they aren't a top 20 team (and god it kills me to say that) not saying we have bad players but the top notch players want to go where they can win and I understand that.

Plus, I have no idea if this is true, but I've heard it a couple places, before Jimbo Fisher got here, it had gotten to the point where recruiting was done just based on tape. And it's painful to listen to the post game shows, Bobby gets confused about players names and things like that.

I think the best thing for this team would be a really bad losing season, something to shake everyone. Because I think there's a sense that it's not that bad, we're in a rebuliding phase or something.

Also it's hard to listen to the post game show because Peter Tom Willis is gone, they fired him (basically) evidentally he was too critical of the team, so there's a new guy. And he says things like "break bread Seminoles" and "chop it up" which are just not the same was hearing PT say "I see you Chris Ponder!" after a big play.

not your mom's socks.

under the sofa in HELL

Adds this to my top ten favorite phrases.

TY Javachik! I'm going to flag that article for TWC as soon as I get back in range.

We had a great night out with our friends when the rest of the group offered to babysit. And I got forgiven because i took the kids on a field trip with friend's dh and she could spend some time with her daughter. Also, she wrote someone else out of the will and ran out of people to play with.

She is already planning us in for next year but friends DH and I are booking club med. Or something.

Yeah, I know-- heaven forfend he should speak the truth. Bobby's ego has gotten the best of him and he's lost utter control of that team. It's so sad. I remember being there when we broke into the Top 25 and went to the Gator Bowl and the All America Bowl (I hate that freakin' stadium in Birmingham). And then '87 and the Fiesta Bowl and just utterly decimating Nebraska and the beginning of that glorious run of top-4 finishes.

It was a giddy, wonderful time and it's just so sad to see what the program has devolved into.

I've heard the same thing from a pretty reliable source.

In total agreement.

it's just so sad to see what the program has devolved into.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We are back from a weekend up at the In-Laws. It went well--but the actual birthday dinner was marred by the fact that M-i-L had some sort of horrible stomach thing, and couldn't even be there. So the birthday boy spent a lot of time at his party on the phone to his ailing wife--not the most festive way to turn 70. Although we had his favorite dessert--banana cream pie which came from the Madonna Inn. SO scrumptious.

We left at 7:00 this morning and had a truly beautiful drive home. There was a thick ribbony fog, so we could see trees silhouetted in the mist and sudden dramatic glimpses the hills of grapevines from all the vineyards up there. It slowly burned off as we came south and by the time we reached the 101, the Pacific was sparkling under a blue sky.

Yeah, I keep having that reaction, too.

Amelia Joy is such a lovely name.

I agree! My brother kept joking about naming the baby 'Hagar' or 'Morag' if it was a girl.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

What were they playing?

Billytea, they were playing Serenity which Joe was running.

I know this because I rang them to dish out some general mockage and told Joe to "save vs Michigan".

We had heavy fog here this morning, too! It was gone by the time I hit the road at 10:00, though.
