Don't worry, we're sure to spot Faith first. She's like this cleavagy slut-bomb walking around 'Ooh, check me out, I'm wicked-cool, I'm five-by-five.'

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I know this sounds lame, but you and Tom should practice interviewing, so he can work on being as fabulous on the outside as he is on the inside. Speaking as the person on the other side of the table, he should research the company, so he can relate what he does to what they do. Download lists of common questions and he can practice. Not that he has to memorize things, but if he has points in mind to list, the whole process will be easier.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Ooh! I'm liking that! Or maybe you could fight demons? While brewing tasty beers?

ion - Good morning from Thailand!

Okay, this week has got to stop piling on people. Hey, week? See what you did with Tom and the job interview? That's the kind of thing we need more of, not all this sadness and frustration and weariness and canceled contracts.

THIS. So sorry, Hil, Barb.

vw - sounds like you're doing all the right things. The behaviour you're describing makes me immediately wonder what the hell kind of behaviour is being modelled at home - I know one little girl at our school who was like that last year (she's got a lot better) and we know that she gets treated pretty horribly at home. Not to say that this is always the case, but when it's actively being mean on a regular basis (rather than being careless/high spirited and causing chaos) then you have to wonder what the motivation is. Can you get a translator to help with the communication issue with the parents? Because "thank you" is about the most unfuckinghelpfull response I can think of.

“Not dead yet!”

Oh Hil... I'm so sorry about your friend. I imagine that you're just feeling numb at the moment, but please know that there's a lot of ~ma of any kind that you need coming from over here.

Sweet Jesus I'm tired. The fallout from Ike is hitting the insurance adjuster world, and they're all realizing they haven't kept up with their computer/software maintenance. Or they're getting new computers and discovering that the version of our software that they use isn't compatible with the hot new Vista-thingy laptop they just got, and and and.

This is the third day this week that the company brought in lunch so we didn't have to leave our desks to eat, because the queues are so busy. We do get paid overtime, but I'm not going to be up to this much longer. Boy I hope I get that techwriting job.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Job~ma for Tom and for connie.

Hil, I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry that those little ones are not going to be able to know their grandfather.

Barb, that's so rotten for you. Here's to bigger and better things soon.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

Oh Hil-- I am so sorry for your loss. Sending whatever kind of ~ma you need your way.

Yay Tom, fingers crossed! And yeah, does he have interview books/practice interviews/etc? Honestly, I feel like going on a few interviews was the only way I got better and better at them. I felt grosser and grosser after them usually too, but c'est la vie.

Sorry about the book Barb, that really sucks.

I need to be productive. I had a bit of productivity earlier this morning, and then suddenly...it's almost 6pm here. When did that happen? Doh! And I just realized I printed a UPS label for something and never took it to the UPS box. Guess it's not going out today. Oops.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm so sorry, Hil.

Sorry for the bad news, Barb.

Job ~ma for Tom.

No advice for you, vw. It is a trial and error thing where what works for one kid won't for another. Alas, sometimes nothing works. The only thing you really have control over is you, and it sounds like you are doing a great job there. (I probably would have screamed at the rotten kid)

Tired. Still at the office. The boys are working with me. Really have to call it a day.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The nearest thing I can think of to that mess in our history is that Emmett had a couple of almost intractable biters and bullies in one of his daycare situations, and Hec may remember what the daycare staff did to rein them in and control the misery.

They never stopped it. One bad kid can sour a whole daycare class. Emmett moved on to pre-school and was very happy to discover kids who didn't want to leave huge purple bite marks on him every day.

Nora, I agree with La Scrappalina. You should rehearse interviewing with Tom. It'll help him with his nerves and give him some muscle memory for the actual event.
