Pardon the quick skim, all, but I've not had a spare second to hop online today.
Burrell, WOW! Congrats! That's huge news, and I'm very happy for you.
Happy Birthday, Nora!!! (Sorry I'm a bit late.)
sj, so glad the shower went well.
Stephanie, I have no advice, but I'm excited about you being back in the States!
Omnis, sorry you're sick. As for the kids being walking Petri dishes, I have three words: Age 33--Pneumonia. Seriously.
Beth lots of job ~ma for the DH and a big hug thrown in for good measure.
Congrats on being an auntie, GG!
Prof. Burrell! That is great news! Congrats!
Happy Aunt-hood GG.
Ya Pix, I remember the Pneumonia. I got nothing to complain about. I'm such a wus when it comes to cold/flu. And of course, over-the-counter meds that relieve symptoms send me to the moon, so I pretty much ignore them. Vitamin C, rest, and Tylenol usually clears it up in a few days.
How's ND's mom? Any progress? Sean... and S?
I'm a little concerned for my former office mate in Houston. He texted just as the storm was past him saying he was ok, just without power, but that was a couple days ago. He didn't respond to text today. Either his cell battery finally died, or he's ignoring me. Hopefully.
Congratulations, Burrell! That is so exciting and well-deserved.
GG! How exciting! Welcome to Auntiehood. It is SO much fun!
Professor Burrell! Woo! And might I add, Hoo!
Either his cell battery finally died
Best to hang on to the simplest explanation. This one is all too logical.
You know, it's weird. I want to either a) live in the city, take the subway to work or b) flee to the suburbs and drive my SUV to go get coffee at Starbucks as I take Ellie to music classes. Personally, I'm leaning towards the city this time. i know it's expensive but I've never lived *in* and big city before. Plus, I have issues with Joe and I commuting 1 hour+ each morning and leaving our kids back in suburbia.
I think you'll find that there are in-between places around Washington. My commute on the Red Line is 12 minutes, my DH's is about 20 to downtown and I live in a suburb in my cute bungalow with a 150' deep backyard. I walk by two locally owned coffee houses on my way to the metro, through the historic district.
Although if we were to live in the city, we'd be up on Capitol Hill, I think. We have a friend there who has her daughter in kindergarten this year at one of the public charter schools.
sj, I'm glad you had a good day.
Burrell, congratulations on your professorship!
GG, happy Auntie-day!
Nora, Happy Belated Birthday!
2/3 of our company is now gone, but my cousin is here until tomorrow, and I think we're going to the baseball game tonight. I'm so tired, and I have a class to teach today, so I hope I sound coherent.
requesting major job~ma for Tom...
Sending major job~ma to Tom!
Job ~ma of the most major variety!
omnis, we have a project manager down there. We lost touch with him yesterday when he was running out of cell power and was going to run out of gas from running the car to charge the phone. I'd go with the no cell battery explanation.
