Happiest of happy days, Nora!!! It sounds like a lovely day you have planned.
Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Mom and I were talking about the gifts after and she said it was because people don't think I'm ''like that'' whatever that means.
Ha! Well, I think you're sexy.
Yeah, too sexy to need to need the artificial construct of the lingerie. ;)
Speaking of the sexay, how are you doing, Vortex. You have been on my mind a lot lately.
Happy Birthday, Nora!
Happy Birthday, Nora!
Before I switched my schedule last week, I was out the door with both kids by 7:00, dropping off Ellie at 7:30, taking Frisco with me running, dropping him off around 8:45, picking him back up at 1:30, taking him home while he napped, then heading back to the daycare to pick up Ellie at 4:00. I felt like I was living in my car.
Hey, I have some news. It looks like we will be moving to DC sometime next summer. It's not written in stone yet (as in, no orders) but the guy who makes the orders said we can go to DC for one job or another. So, at some point, I'd love input on good places to live/buy in the greater DC area.
Right now, I'm dearly looking forward to having a child who wants to sleep in. Any day I get to wake up later than 6am is a win.

What are your parameters? I know that you have two kids, so would you be looking for a 3 bedroom place? Also, where exactly is Joe's job? There's a slight difference according to the location, as in it doesn't look like it's that far, but the traffic is a nightmare. Would you be opposed to living in the suburbs or do you want to live in DC proper? Do you want to take a job for you into consideration? What about schools?
LOTS of questions for you to think about. :)
Am back in the office this morning and I swear my brain is off in 10 different directions, some work related and some not. I normally don't have a problem with multi-tasking, but this is getting rediculous.

Of course, I've wanted to move to DC since we were there last year (I think it's actually been longer) so I've already done some thinking.
Let's see - the Army gives us $2700 (about) a month in housing allowance for DC. Which sounds like a lot but I know cost of living is high there. Three bedrooms for sure. I would like to live in DC myself but I think Joe is tempted by the suburbs. We have friends who are building a house in Fredricksburg but that looks really far away to me.
Joe's job is not for sure yet but it will likely be either in the Pentagon or maybe at Ft. McNair. I'm thinking about try to work either for the government or an immigration non-profit. With both of us in DC, it just does not make sense to me to live far away.
However, schools will be an issue as Ellie will start kindergarten while we are there. Obviously, she doesn't need to have the best kindergarten in the world but I do want her to be safe and enjoy her school.
You know, it's weird. I want to either a) live in the city, take the subway to work or b) flee to the suburbs and drive my SUV to go get coffee at Starbucks as I take Ellie to music classes. Personally, I'm leaning towards the city this time. i know it's expensive but I've never lived *in* and big city before. Plus, I have issues with Joe and I commuting 1 hour+ each morning and leaving our kids back in suburbia.
hmm, my impending move seems to have killed thread.
