Maybe a question about whether the setting is very significant, or could the story have taken place anywhere? Or how the story would be different if set elsewhere - rural vs. urban, spaceship vs. sailing ship?
Oh, I like this. That would especially work for some of the nonfiction.
~ma for Suzi and always for Sean and S
Kristin, why not turn the teaching tables on them? Have them describe how they'd teach the book to a class.
I hope you get good mom-news, SuziQ.
SuziQ - mom~ma!
I also bring you distraction from the fug girls at fashion week: [link]
Cutie-head doc just came to update. Biopsy went well, no tumor, in a week we will see what the biopsy results say. She will be in recovery for about an hour before I can see her. I'm still stuck on how cute he was....dang. I'm a bad daughter.
(((Suzi))) -ma to you and your mother.
Cute authoritarian types are a distraction! I remember the time I was pulled over by a county sheriff who was a shorter Peter Gallagher. Oh, I was engrossed in what he was saying, and delighted to find him at traffic court so I could drool some more!
Lots of hugs, sweet Suzi.

If that makes you a bad daughter, I'm going straight to hell for some things I've done/thought.
Today was a good school day. Both of my 6th grade classes asked when they were switching to music which is generally a sign that they can't wait to leave drama. But, when I told them mid-October, they all responded, "Do we have to go? We love drama! It's so much fun!" Warmed my heart, it did.
The fact that there as no tumor, means the chance of this being cancer is small. But they don't know what was causing her symptoms now...hopefully the biopsy will give a clue.
K-Bug just texted me to brag about drinking chocolate milk each day. She isn't normally a milk drinker, so this is new. But that she felt she had to brag about it cracks me up.
