Molly will be on her home turf. IJS Although I hear the teenager disease has caught up to T, and he's a grump, lately.

As to inconveniencing my mother - she has a cook and a cleaning lady . . . you might interrupt one of my father's naps?

hah.

can you send me their phone number? If I have to call my mom back, we're going to get in another argument about whether or not Sarah Palin can grow into her role once she leaves Alaska.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Can I have some health-ma for my friend C? She's in the hospital with pain and dehydration. They think her colitis has spread.

sj, colitis is another term for irritable bowel syndrome, which is what I'm pretty sure was the source of all my lower-abdominal severe pain/problems from earlier in the summer.

Which is to say, wow, do I *ever* feel her pain. No fun at all. (Actually, it's kind of agonizing, and mine was never bad enough for hospitalization, so I can imagine how bad hers is.)

Steph, did that just work itself out or did you take any medication for it?

Really, Teppy? I looked at wikipedia (which I know is not the most reliable source of information) and it seemed to indicate they are different. I think she is mainly in the hospital for the dehydration. She hasn't really been able to eat or drink much in about 2 weeks.

sj, you're right -- I got my abbreviations confused. Colitis = IBD, which is inflammatory bowel disease. It's not IBS. Dang those abbreviations.

So, that's similar to Crohn's disease, isn't it? Didn't Angus have that?

Steph, did that just work itself out or did you take any medication for it?

I took a combination of (1) medication that makes the GI tract chill the fuck out, (2) Gas-X [which is my new best friend], and (3) really kick-ass probiotics [the Pearls kind]. When things calmed down (after about a month or so), I stopped the Rx medication and Gas-X, and whenever I get that lower abdominal crampy pain, I take charcoal capsules, which KICK ASS at de-bloating any gas, etc., in the lower GI tract.

I'm still taking probiotics, because it isn't totally better, but it's about 90% better than it was at its worst. And I really think the probiotics were a HUGE factor in my improvement.

I need to note that charcoal capsules are good at absorbing *medications* and eliminating them -- that's why when someone ODs, the hospital gives them activated charcoal. To get the drugs out. So since I do take allergy meds, etc., I just have to keep an eye on how much time has passed between me taking the meds and taking the charcoal.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

t random as fuck.

Huh. I seem to be getting sucked into Wizard Rock. Or at least, I think The Whomping Willows' song House of Awesome is fab. And I'm quite charmed by their 'In Which Draco and Harry Make Out' too. (And The Moaning Myrtles' song 'Prefects Are Hot' was quite cute, and made me think of Aimee.)

Must figure out how to charge up iTunes account/find reliable source of ahem'd toonz.
