Sorry you feel all blech and blerg, ChiKat. I hope your day gets better.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thanks, Sparky. I'll look into it.
Timelies!
I'm hugging and hairpatting everyone who needs it.
I have a lot of work to get done today, but the children are at school, I don't have to be anywhere else before 1, and I just had an egg sammich, so the day is starting out okay.
Fay, I am drinking a tea called "Bangkok" (by Harney and Sons) and thinking of you. It's got a lovely hint of coconut milk to it. Nomnom.
I actually set my alarm clock this morning, hoping it would provoke me into getting things done. Eh, NSM, unless you consider making tea, an omelet and loading the dishwasher getting things done. I've sat down, now, probably not getting up anytime soon.
re: GPS--be careful with these in wild country. Here in Utah we had a bunch of tourists get in a load of problems because they thought "road is marked on GPS" meant "decent road that will actually go somewhere and not leave us stranded on a bluff overlooking a canyon 90 miles away from civilization"
Also, isn't that "Love Me Dead" song the one they're playing on all the House promos?
I wonder if I am getting sick- I don't feel sick exactly, but I feel very worn down for no good reason.
The rainy season? REALLY REALLY isn't kidding. But generally speaking the pavements are bone dry within a few hours of the rain stopping.
How does that work? Just really good drainage or what?
Am very intrigued!
ok - hivemind:
I need to do a solo drive from Philly to Duck, NC this weekend, with Iris in tow. DH is at a conference all week, which wasn't part of the original plan. It's a 7-hour drive, from what I can tell, and I thought breaking it up would be a good idea. Due to crazy hectic life stuff and some informational delays regarding when my college friend was arriving in Duck w/the keys to the house (turns out, Sunday), I didn't know when I was going to need to drive until late last week, so I'm cobbling this together now. Never having done this drive, I have a couple options for where to stay - which seems wisest?
Richmond - with my dear aunt & uncle who I was afraid to call because it was too close to the date I was inviting myself for... but who said "piffle!" and also that it might be smarter to stay closer to halfway, ie: NoVa or DC.
NoVa/DC - either in a hotel or with friends who will not give me headsmacks for late planning... and who I won't be inconveniencing too much w/the late planning.
Something else that I haven't thought of.
Oh, Em. She needs to learn to say what she means, which is "WHILE PANTS ARE A PERFECTLY VALID LIFESTYLE CHOICE THEY DO NOT APPEAL TO MY SELF IMAGE AT THE MOMENT AS I WISH TO LOOK LIKE MY SOCIETALLY INFLUENCED IDEA OF A PRETTY PRETTY PRINCESS!"
There was a moment in the kitchen this morning when I looked my three year old dead in the eye and said "I would love to discuss gender issues and sartorial choices, Punk, but we just don't have the time. Wear the pants or no TV."
Oh, man, do I love the Miracleborn family.
