Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Sean, do you belong to any unions? A lot of them maintain emergency funds for members who've fallen on hard times. There may be funds available through other sources too--up here, the local organization that runs the big monthly actor/director/techie newsletter and coordinates the gigantic yearly regional mass auditions also has a small fund for anyone on, under, behind, or somewhere in the rigging above the stage who finds themselves in dire need (usually because of a health care crisis for someone in the household).
All of this is stuff the hospital social worker could pursue for you; you just need to mention it.
Sparky, headpats and settled-stomach for the pup. Oxy Clean for you.
She has a talent for puking on the bed a day or two after I've taken all the big blankets & quilts to the triple loaders at the laundry for a cleaning -- which I did on Saturday during the rain. I guess I'll try to motivate myself back there this evening after yoga.
Andi, I will give Jenn your compliments. She's brilliant - a former astrophysicist (she found it too misogynistic a discipline to spend her life in it) turned freelance journalist.
If I could have a theme song, what would it be and why? Yes, it's a silly question, but since last year all I got in the yearbook was a misattributed quote, I'm thinking of actually answering this time. Only I can't think of anything. Well, "O Lord, I Have Made You a Place In My Heart" comes to mind, but it might be a problem if anyone looked up the lyrics.
Sean, do you belong to any unions?
Nope. Not a union member. S is on honorable withdrawal from her union. They may be able to help.

Maybe she doesn't like the smell of the soap/fabric softener and thinks "hmm, what can I do to make this smell more natural?"
I'm no help, am I? What? I've been working all weekend, and I show up for a 9:30 meeting that was canceled. Thanks for the heads up on that one. Imma gonna leave early today. Fuck it!
t first world woes
Things that are pants:
(1) getting stung in the foot by a wasp.
(2) doing an hour's work on the computer and then losing it all.
Oh Fay, I'm so sorry. Those are definitely NOT happy things.
Sean, you've gotten excellent advice here, so I'ma just nod and point. And hug you silly, even virtually. If not virtuously.
Barb, two things Mooshu's behavior is suggesting: 1)that he has a bad tooth or something lodged between his teeth making it painful for him to chew, or 2)that he has something, like a small stick or another small object, stuck in his throat that makes swallowing difficult or painful. I'd make sure the vet pays particular attention to those areas. They often get overlooked when seeking systemic reasons for symptoms. And also, (((Barb and Mooshu))).
Hugs to Sean and Fay and Barb & Mooshu and Sparky for all things pants this morning and earlier.
I'm half asleep. I didn't fall asleep until after 1, and I hit snooze about four times more than I should have this morning, which left me about ten minutes to shower, get dressed, dry my hair, feed the cats, and grab my bag. I made it to school on time, but it wasn't pretty. I had to teach a class five minutes after arrived, which went fine, but...man. Need. Coffee.
::glares at phone::
All right pet hospital. I called. I know you have the bloodwork results. Please, Dr. G, CALL ME NOW
((Sean, Fay, Barb and Mooshu)))
askye, your shock at $800/month is different from my shock at $800/month (ie, you think expensive, and I think cheap!) Location, location, location indeed. And I think I see stains on the carpet, so that's not new.
Yeah I know it has to do with location. The $800 rent on my old place is just over 100 more than the rent on my current place. And I know there are nice apartments in the neighborhood of similiar size going for less. Not to mention the electricity is hopelessly out of date.
I think it's a weird shadow or something or they stained the carpet after I moved because that wasn't there when I moved out.
