I've owned cats and dogs my entire life and only one cat had substantial health problems and none of my dogs has ever had anything, so I'm woefully clueless about some of this stuff.

Barb, it sounds like you have a good plan for the food. I never thought of it before, but you are right - this is stuff you don't think about, and don't learn until you have to. Another temporary people food option would be plain ground beef, drained and rinsed of fat, mixed in a 1:1 ratio of cooked rice - this is a suggestion I have gotten from the vet. one time for one of the cats, that would surely do well for dogs. And some people swear by cannned pumpkin for tempting four-leggeds to eat when their appetite is gone. If Moosho were a cat, the next suggestion I would make would involve hairball remedy.

Today is good so far. I slept in. Woke up to find the Eagles game in HD. They are actually winning!! I have laundry going. And got the feet up in comfy/evil chair. Life is good right now.

#1 son is at the office with me watching football and working. We've been insisting that the boys participate in the family business. It is nice to be able to pay them for their efforts and watch them spend it on teenage stuff. I've set up a paypal account for them and pay into a separate account that they share. I still have to approve the purchases. I don't care if they spend their bucks on silly sunglasses or whatever, but I need to point out that the shipping is $23 from Hong Kong or whatever. They are getting pretty smart about it.

has anybody seen the trick with the grape in the microwave? (look up micrawave grape on youtube if you haven't) Is it bad for the microwave?

I think it is Kat that has microwaved just about everything. (could be misremembering) I never saw the grape thing. Why does it do that? Huh. Might have to try that.

I hadn't been to an E.R. yes this week so I'm at one in San Diego with my mom now. The nursing home sent her over this morning because they are worried about infection at her wound site.

And in mid post the doctor came by and Itnis infected. They are going to admit her for a few days for IV antibiotics.

IOmeN, I went to Target today and actually managed to get out of the place for under $100! Amazing.

Also, on my way home I saw lots of yummy boys on bikes goodness. Madison's Iron Man Triathlon was today and part of the route was on a road I use frequently. Mmm-mmmm, good.

Laga, if worried, put the glass over it. Keep the flame from hitting the microwave walls.
