Sean, I'm so glad S's mom is there. I'm sorry about everything, but I'm glad for that, at least.
Hec, I'm so sorry you didn't get the job. That both sucks and blows.
Hil, if you move to Australia, I think you should move close to billytea and Wallybee.
{{Suzi}} I don't know what to say except to reiterate that you're a wonderful mom who does her best with a wonderful, but sometimes very difficult, kid.
Laga, I hope you get to go to the meeting. I'd go with you if I were closer.
All I was ever able to do was let him take the consequences at school and explain to him that this was the result of him *not* telling the truth (or the whole truth) and misbehaving. Also that the way teachers and administrators perceived him was very much his responsibility, you know?
and
Maybe focus on the fact that he's not finding a niche at school and talk about strategies to deal with that.
Yep, am working both these angles the best I can. I keep reminding him that the only person he has any control over is himself.
IOCJN - he voluntarily picked up his phone to call his sis, just cause.

Ehh, you know it does
suck.
But as the man once noted, "If your problems don't include the words 'incurable' or 'indictment' they're not as bad as you think."
Money troubles suck, but they no longer have debtor's prison. And if there's anything B.org has reinforced this year it's that health is key.
We're safe and healthy tonight. I try not to take that for granted. I appreciate it every night.
I'm not trying to be pollyanna, but I've been lowdown and this isn't it. If I was a thousandaire I wouldn't have problems.
I've been stressed out about money in my past to the point where I made myself ill. So watch out for that health, Hec.
I have full on Friday Night Lights going on up behind my apartment. There is a brandy new Christian High School (Valor High) next to to our complex - they have a fancy baseball field, softball field, track, and football field. The roar of the crowd and the announcer are audible from our patio - no so loud as you are driven nuts, but definitely noticeable.
Makes me grin.
That's so cool, Suzi! I love the sound of people celebrating. Well except when it's my neighbor at 2am, but you know what I mean.

Heh. Living across from Kezar Stadium during high school football season is annoying and nuts-making. In fact, I was grumbling about it five minutes ago while my lullabies to Matilda were being drowned out by the P.A. guy for some prep game across the street. Too hot to close the windows.

This. I am too often described as being unnaturally calm in crisis. Apparently the definition of crisis varies. Also, I hope the right employment thing happens soon for you. It may not be the worst thing ever, but money stress seriously sucks.

That really is cool. My last house was within sound distance of the HS football field. I miss band practice. eta on xpost - there is close enough to be pleasant and then there is too close....
Up late after watching 3 Daily Shows from earlier this week. I expect to be giggling in my dreams.
We will see how charming it is a few more weeks into the season, or when baseball starts (that field is the closest, but it doesn't have any spectator stands).
or when baseball starts
Like anybody goes to high school baseball games.
