Thanks, y'all. Right now I'm waiting to find out what's going on. The emergency room nurse said they had a ton of tests to run before they'd have any idea what's going on. Around 6:30 or so I'll know if I'll be rushing over there tonight or going tomorrow.
Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
He's lost weight since the video w/ Shakira, y?
He's very yo-yo with the weight. When I saw him in December, he was definitely on the chunky side. He looks in that vid like he's lost some weight for sure-- like a lot of Spanish men, he's not very tall, so every little bit does show up on him.
True story-- my cousin, who went to grad school in Spain had, as she describes it, a delicious eight month hook up with this young man who said his name was Diego and who used to carry his guitar everywhere. She knew he was a musician and that he played a lot of clubs. She said he was magnetic as hell and very, very good in bed.
Imagine her surprise when a few months after they broke up, she's driving down the street in Madrid and sees a huge billboard with her former hookup: real name, Alejandro Sanz.
She finds my musical fascination with him rather amusing-- as she puts it, "Runs in the family, attraction to that one..."
EDIT for ~ma for Calli's dad.
Calli, so much ~ma!
I need to see if iTunes has those.
What did we do before iTunes? I mean, I remember those days. Kind of. Back when I'd listen intently to the radio to try to catch the song and record it on tape. Or, I'd drive all the way to Minneapolis to a record store to buy the single. INSANITY. I mean, I had to do it UP HILL BOTH WAYS IN THE SNOW! I mean, it was Minnesota after all!
Sorry to be such a total whiner, but I've got to drive back to Los Angeles in a few minutes and I'm so sick and tired of either driving or living out of a suitcase. I've been essentially living out of a suitcase since the F2F.
She said he was magnetic as hell and very, very good in bed.
mrowr.
What did we do before iTunes?
Srsly. The agony of listening to an entire countdown for just one song, or hearing something in a tv show and not being able to just Google the lyrics...
I've been essentially living out of a suitcase since the F2F.
Honey, you're allowed to not only whine, but rail at the fates, the heavens and any other damned thing. If I haven't mentioned it lately, you're one of my heroes, just for how well you've been holding it together.
mrowr
Yeah, no kidding. I'm sure I was a rather vibrant shade of green.
Drew, whine away! I don't know how you're doing it all. Really.
The University of Wisconsin called today. They can get Owen into their Autism Clinic for evaluation next Tuesday instead of OCTOBER as they were originally going to schedule. But C can't get the day off and I'm scrambling to find a babysitter for Liv.
And the insurance company called for further underwriting questions about my history of mental health.
Feh.
I am amazed to find that hiking socks are making my blisters a non-issue. Seriously I have huge blisters on the backs of both heels and I don't even feel them. My feet are sore in general just from the abuse of suddenly doing way more walking than they are used to and my back is sore from carrying my docs and a much heavier than it needs to be leather organizer yesterday.
I recall hearing that if you want to lose weight you should work out every other day, that if you work out every day you'll bulk up. I doubt the amount of walking I'm doing (especially since I've wimped out and am taking the bus for the long leg of my trek) is going to make me bulk up but I do wonder: how long does it generally take after you start a new "work out" (gah I feel like such a wimp for finding walking so taxing) to stop feeling sore all the time?
