Disability boycotters aren't known for enjoying irony. Personally, it would matter more to me how they say what the say and whether the movie rewards them for it, or makes them pay for it.(Michael Scott says horrible things, but "The Office" doesn't high-five him for it.) Because I remember getting all upset about the movie where Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon played conjoined twins. When I actually saw it, I found it sweet, in a weird sort of way. Very sympathetic to the brothers' urges to go their own ways and so forth. And, hello? Broke-ass cripples go to movies twice a year. That won't make producers shake in their Bruno Maglis, people. Broke-ass cripples versus a rave in Rolling Stone...one of these things is not like the others.

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
ChiKat, I'm glad the feline ear problems were treatable. I once had a cat who had repeated yeast infections - in her ears. My roommate and I had endless fun over that. Well, after we'd administered her medications.
yeast infections - in her ears
This is the infection he has. Treatable with ear drops.
oh my ... all this discussion of the word "lady" has reminded me of something from years ago. As I think I've said, my mother put a high value on being ladylike. My freshman year in college she was in the dorm and someone had a sign up,for women's rights, of the female symbol with a clenched fist inside it. My mother looked at it and said, "that's not very ladylike" ... I think my response was "nope", which lead her to try to understand why any woman would knowingly do something unladylike. Don't think she ever grasped the concept.
I think Harry Knowles does a pretty good job of summing up the "retard" kerfuffle over at AICN.
It actually has nothing to do with anyone that has ever actually had a mental disorder - unless you count acting as a mental disorder - which I think we can all agree actors are nothing but a breed of goofy bastards.
I skipped because I'm excited and a wee bit worried.
My SIL is in the hospital and has been induced for labor. She was due Monday, today she had a doctor's appointment and when they were leaving the house she slipped and fell. The baby is okay but her elbow is hurt. Also she's been dilated the same for about 3 weeks so they are inducing.
She's had such a rough pregnancy (she had was sick all day every day for the first 3 or 4 months of her pregnancy and then that slacked off finally but up until last month she was still getting sick and throwing up) so I'm hoping for a relatively easy delivery.
Also safe driving ma tomorrow for my parents when they head up there separately, it's been raining non stop in both SC and FL. Not sure whenI'll get to go up there but probably Labor Day.
Ooh! Labor-ma for your SIL, askye! It sounds like she's rightfully ready to get this pregnancy over and get on with the mom thing.
Oooo! So much labor~ma for your SIL, askye! I hope this ends up being a wonderful, exciting day.
Hope your SiL has an easy labor and safe delivery, askye!
