Take jobs as they come -- and we'll never be under the heel of nobody ever again. No matter how long the arm of the Alliance might get, we'll just get ourselves a little further.

Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

should I list outside or inside stuff first?

I'm not sure what that means, but I think you've got it right. Current job related stuff first, past job or other association following.

And then they read it aloud, word for word.

Oh, that drives me nuts. When I'm putting together slides I go into it with the perspective "how can I make it impossible for them to stand up and read this slide." Doesn't always fly, but it makes me feel better.

Ouch, Omnis. That sounds like a lot of no fun.

Trivia:

I used to work with Grammar Girl. She's nice.

Also, she is wrong a lot of the time. Don't use her as your only resource for these matters.

Oh I wouldn't, especially now that she uses her real name--and it's the French word for cute.

Our wings are not tired.

I am by no means an expert on English usage; however, there are a few things, such as conjugating the verb "lie" and the use of infer versus imply, that I know very well. So when I catch someone mis-using either, I know there exists possibility for mistakes elsewhere.

For me, the language thing is a fascinating puzzle and I love it. It's not about being "right", it's about loving languages and being fascinated by how and why they change over time.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

this is strange. I can clearly feel a lump. Not large, mind you, but it definately changes the phrenology of my head (I'm sure improper usage of word, but not sure how else to describe). The strange thing is... it doesn't hurt! I'm not complaining. Just, in all the countless times I fall and go boom. Never had a lack of owwy when the head has a lump.

Yeah, I read her stuff sometimes because it's fun but I disagree with a lot.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm 5'7", 155 pounds, and usually a size 12, sometimes a 10, sometimes a 14.

See, this is why I don't get sizing, because I weigh much more than that (how much more I find out tomorrow) and yet the sizing is about the same.

I'm 4'10", and I wear about a size 12 or maybe a 14 when I'm 155 pounds.

I can very rarely wear dresses. There are just very few dresses that will fit my top half, my bottom half, and my height all at once. Lots and lots of fitted dresses end up with the top fitting right, the hips fitting right, and then a ton of fabric bunched around my waist.
