The funniest thing just happened, in a "why are college students sometimes lacking common sense" way...
I asked the stage manager to schedule fittings "every half hour, with a half hour break for lunch". She scheduled them every half hour from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, then an hour break, then one more fitting at 4:30!! I swear that when I was 19 I would not have done that unless it was an availability thing!
Someone has created a food website just for Hec.
I think work would notice before anyone else did if I went missing. Not sure what they'd do about it, but they would probably notice.
In many ways this is me. My students would notice at once if I wasn't there and start calling/emailing. Draconian Dictator would probably notice his "whipping teacher" was gone after a few days.
Of course Hub would notice now that his schedule is 'normal'. When he was doing shift work, it probably would have taken him a few days to realize I was gone because we could easily go 3-4 days without seeing one another.
I might have Miriam's email. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow I'll try to track her down.
I loved the first 90210 which I watched over and over in its entirety when I worked from home. Though the term worked should be used very very loosely.
We went to visit Grace after the pool today. Two random things.... on our way from the pool to Grace's place, we passed a road called Miss Grace Drive. K had to convince me that I'm too old to steal street signs but I wanted that one so bad.
Then the church next door to Grace's place had an ELEPHANT. Seriously. An actual elephant who was giving rides. Random!
I only care about the old characters on the new 90210, so it was nice that some girls in the nail place were analysing the whole Kelly's baby daddy thing -- they seemed too young to have watched the original, but that seemed to be the only plot point they cared about, and they had extensive Bev knowledge to bring to bear on the conversation.
This group of young women also included one who told me I didn't need my eyebrows done "that much" when I added that to my mani/pedi.
You know I'm obsessed with the nail place, and this kind of thing just feeds into it.
Zebulon?
You know what, I'm really glad I wasn't online when naming Devi.
Oh fuck.
A massive bomb blast has hit the Marriott Hotel in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, killing at least 40 people.
The hotel's owner said the explosion occurred when a lorry, which was being checked by security staff and sniffer dogs blew up at the hotel's entrance.
The blast created a 20ft (6m) deep crater, and destroyed the entire front section of the hotel.
My SiL's parents live in Islamabad. I hope they're okay. (And I can't call her to ask because it's 3 am in London right now.)
The attack came just hours after the newly elected President Zardari had given his first speech to MPs, vowing not to allow Pakistan's territory to be violated by terrorists or foreign powers fighting them
Some days, just not in love with people. I hope your family is okay.
At least we weren't sucked into the void when it went down.
Hi everybody!
Sorry for causing distress - hadn't realized I hadn't posted for that long. Anyway, I think I need to have my meds changed, as I've been feeling kinda' depressed and stressed out lately. (I'll have to call my shrink on Monday, and you all can yell at me if I forget.)
Today I slept most of the day, so I just got caught up in emails and whatnot - I'm really touched by everyone's concern. Thanks....
