The test for FIV/FeLV is really fast. The vet was able to tell me in 10 minutes.
Okay, now you guys are enabling me !
(Looks at who posted that.) Oh...right.
I'm going to wait and see what her neighbors say about getting them tested.

KITTENS!!!!!!!
Keep in mind, I've got a Cold War with some border skirmishes popping up at home, so clearly I am insane.
But it was a relief for me to know that the test didn't involve hardly any wait.

Oh, I went through that the last time I got a kitten.

All the tests at my vet seem to be while you wait, which is why they're so expensive.
That's the last step of reluctance on adopting. I don't think I can afford the $500+ that shots and testing and neutering would involve.
Are there any low-cost spay/neuter programs in your area, Sue? I know around here, it's pricey as heck to pay for your own critters, but rescue groups and foster homes can often get a break. Assuming such a thing exists up your way, any vet or shelter would know about them and whether these guys would qualify.
Funny thing is my vet totally told me I could go the neuter-scooter route, that was fine with them. It's just more convenient for me to have the vet do it, frankly.
I know if you adopt a cat from a shelter, shots and neutering is included in the adoption fee. But I don't know if there are any catch and release programs around here.
Happy birthday, Lori!
Happy anniversary, Plei & Paul!
Happy birthday, Lori! Congrats Plei & Mr.!
Coworker and I just had the most fun for TLaP Day. We decided it wasn't enough just to talk like pirates, we needed to be pirates, so we changed our names to Mad Mary Flint and Scalliwag Scarlett O'Toole and while everyone was in the client review from hell, we stole something from their desks and left them a note that said "Ye have been pillage'd and plunder'd by Mad Mary Flint and Scalliwag Scarlett O'Toole-If ye know what it be we stole, ye best find us." We put everything in a pretty box and hid it under security vests (using the black strips to form an x) under a neon palm tree that sits over our group admin's cube.
We have had a blast watching them wander around trying to figure out what we took and where it was. One of our "victims" just rewarded us with margaritas.
So, my super finally left for the day, and now I'm wondering if I was supposed to tip him? He wasn't doing me a favor, so I guess not -- he was fixing a problem. And I told him I'd give him keys so he can come in Monday and finish one bit that apparently still has water coming from upstairs....
