Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Thinking on a long lean mountain brings to mind Trango Tower. Dunno if some variation of that would work as a name, though. "Trango, stop clawing the couch, dammit!"

In some of those pictures, he looks like Dobby.

Or how about something more Baltimorean? Something Poe-related?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Saw my dad today. His neighbor and Harley riding buddy just found our he's going to be a father. Dad's buddy is 78 years old. His wife is in her late 40's.

Needless to say EVERYONE is in shock. Or Dad will be when he stops laughing. I wonder how John's 44 year old daughter feels about having a new baby brother or sister.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Based on this kittie's elegance you might call him: Ellington, Billy (for Strayhorn or Eckstine, plus value added William points), Prez (for Lester Young), Miles, Blue (for Rhapsody in..) or Fitz (for F. Scott).

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Sigh. My students had WebAssign homework due at midnight tonight. (It's a web-based homework system, where they type in their answers on a website and it grades it. It's a much better system in concept than in execution.) I got four emails from students with questions about the homework after 11:30.

Skipping to the end of Natter to ask Allyson if she saw TDS last night. Ricky Gervais spent his entire interview talking about bats. It made me think of you and Sam. ("To the left!")

Me too!

Always Anti-fascist!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I was thinking that too! Made me really laugh; it was a great interview, although clearly not what either intended.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah, it was kind of weird, but I'd really rather watch Jon S. be weird with his friends than some celeb being on point on the Tonight Show.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Scrappy made me laugh out loud! And it's been a hard night with many tears (not mine, but close), so I needed that.
