Jack-Jack is adorable! His paws!
I feel a little guilty for not wanting students, but as a part-time person I feel like I can either do the show or teach the students, but I don't have time for both, so I do sort of a half assed job at two things rather than a good job at one. I have had wonderful, wonderful experiences, but I just don't have time to motivate those not already motivated.
Sophia, if they want students to be able to learn this role, they need to hire and pay for someone to teach it. I'm pretty sure with your hours and pay that's not what you've committed to.
(I mean, I think they should, and it should be you if that's what you wanted. But they should be putting the resources behind it, not letting it all rest on your good nature and willingness to go the extra mile.)
ITA with Brenda. It's hard to say no, but ugh. To assume that you'll do the teaching along with your regular work load doesn't seem fair.
Have any of you seen Tim Wise's blog post about White Privilege? It's kinda brilliant.

I saw it on javachik's blog earlier tonight. It's absolutely stunning.
Thank you Kat and Brenda. I am just learning how to say no at this late age!
ETA: Also, I think it demeans what teachers do to think that having students to teach is no real extra work!
Wow... that white privilege article is great.
Apparently Tim Robbins knew something we didn't know. This is a picture from last May:

Kitten is using all litterboxes. Which, yay! I don't need to find a place for a third. And I already scoop once a day. Except I don't know how the grownups will react. Please no accidents.
Yes, I have no life. Would you rather me bitch about my work disaster as I have been?
Fuck, I made a typo in my name on my SW ticket. This is gonna get me special treatment by TSA, isn't it? (Doubled a letter.) Maybe the cc people will correct it?
eta: whoo. Despite the passenger name being whacky, the reservation is in my correct name. Still might be a case for the stupid TSA inanity, but the ticket will be fine.
I was thinking that Tim Robbins is aging beautifully. But I'm partial to him.
