Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Apparently barn cats are rather vulnerable to the EWEWEWEW! - we'd just medicate them all once a month for it....

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Kitten has been extra squirrelly lately. Now I think we know why. Poor little thing.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ew, indeed.

David, I'm so sorry about the book, and the momentary lull in momentum, but hopefully the next thing will be right along. In the meantime, like everyone else, I'm entranced with your tales of the Emmett & Matilda love. So sweet. What is "Obbie" in Matilda's lexicon?

There are no other people in the US with my name. Oooh, that's a surprise.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What is "Obbie" in Matilda's lexicon?

Obbie = Emmett (derived from Obbitt, which was as close as she could get to his name at first. She can actually pronounce Emmett now but still calls him Obbie.)

Other translations from the Matildalistics:

Tsha = Yes. Assent. (Pronounced almost exactly the same as in Wayne's World)

No = No. No means no.

Baaahp! = Ha! You just farted!

Beuhd = Bird.

Footdie (also, Foogie) = Feathers. Things of horror and disgust. Usually said in a state of high agitation.

Mohssi = Messy. She doesn't like it when things are messy.

Duhty = Dirty. Ditto on dirty.

Nassywassy = Nasty Wasty. When we have to clean a diaper. "Yuck! Matilda we have to clean you up. This is a stinker. It's nasty wasty." "Nassywassy!"

Wherdigo? = Where'd it go? Her most common inquiry. Usually with something hidden behind her back and a cultivated innocent look on her face.

Holie = Hold me. Pick me up. Said with arms upraised. Makes JZ melt.

Down = Down. Or sometimes up. Generally it means she wants to either get off or on the couch or bed.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Down. Or sometimes up.

I love kid logic.

Hey, it just means I need to be in a different level. Make it happen.

I love "Obbie" as a nickname for her big brother. So adorable.

Footdie (also, Foogie) = Feathers. Things of horror and disgust. Usually said in a state of high agitation.

Why are feathers horrific to Matilda?

There are 1,524 people in the US with my first name and only 518 people in the US with my last name and 1 or fewer (hee) with both.
