Personally, I am still astounded by people who consistently find writing to be FUN.
I have to say, when it's working-- when everything's firing on all cylinders and I so completely lose myself in the world and characters and dialogue to the point where I'm astounded that hours have passed without any knowledge or awareness on my part, there's no other feeling in the world. That combination of exhaustion and exhilaration in absolutely unbeatable.
Admittedly, it's balanced out by the tooth-pulling agony of the times when it's not going well, but the highs do keep you coming back. While I don't have an addictive nature in the least, it does give me a fairly decent window of insight and understanding into how people become junkies.
Skippity to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Nora Deirdre's birthday.
Happy birthday, Nora! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
Happy Birthday Nora!
Saw the Kish for the first time since last week - omg.
People who live on the flood plain are - well, it's already overflowing it's banks in places. We are under a flood warning until sometime tonight.
I hope it stops raining today .
Is it still raining out by you, Sumi? It's blue skies in the city.
It's drizzling and overcast here. It's supposed to stop but just hasn't yet.
Happy Birthday, Nora!!!
Thanks to sarameg to coming out to see us on Saturday! It was really as hot as balls. I spent most of yesterday recovering and I'm really not over it yet. There are a couple of cute pictures of us up though:

So, it's a good thing that somebody I know saw me waiting for the bus - one of the roads on the route I take is closed due to flooding. I had no idea.
This weekend my DW pressed again for me to get 8 hours of sleep a night. However, I think she now gets my opposition to the idea of eight hours of sleep a night. I explained that with exercising in the morning, getting the kids ready for school, walking the kids to the bus stop, going to work, making dinner, cleaning up the kitchen, taking care of the kids and getting them to bed my day already has 15 1/2 hours accounted for. I need a little unaccounted time.
I'm still waiting for my super -- I really would have thought "first thing" would have been earlier!
Don't worry someday your super will come.
