I must say, it was fun having the Republicans in St. Paul and to see it all up close and firsthand. Security was, as one might expect, thin-lipped and gimlet-eyed, but once you got through it, you found the folks you went to high school with -- farm kids, jocks, the townies who ran the student council, the cheerleaders, some of the bullies -- and they are as cohesive now as they were back then, dedicated to school spirit, intolerant of outsiders, able to jump up and down and holler for something they don't actually believe.
I ended up tivoing Fringe anyway, and I think if I keep watching, that's going to be the best thing for me, since I can fast forward through the gross parts.
Wait, what's the premise again? Are the gross parts medical? I can't watch anything medical. Are they a regular part of the show, or more sporadic, like the autopsies on

Oh, I basically watched it because of Pacey. I rolled my eyes instead of turning it off because of Pacey. I will probably check it out again because of Pacey. If there's nothing else going on.
Also, my friend Marcia & I were just discussing the show, and how we really need a moratorium on any more Bad TV Dads, because jeez.
You know those days where it starts to rain just as you're about to go out for coffee? And then you get all the way to the coffee shop before you realize that you forgot to bring money, so you have to go all the way back? I'm having one of those, except that when I got back to get the money I realized that it was there all along, but crumpled up all the way at the bottom of a different pocket.

I was going to watch Fringe because of Pacey, but I was not home and don't have Tivo. I am not sure if I want to ahem anymore, despite the fact that I love Josh Jackson like the burning fire of 1000 suns.
Also- do you guys remember my semi-minion who was signing things "your faithful servant?" I did ask him nicely to stop, and he has.
However, I have a new issue that I don't even know if it worth addressing-- he just works SO SLOWLY. Like, he has now taken 20 minutes to fold a plastic table cloth and wipe down a really clean table! I was thinking it was my imagination, but my other minion, a student worker, has come back and she can do 4 times the amount of stuff he can do in the same time frame. The thing is that a) he really gets paid very little, so I think he may work fastish to get time to goof off, which I understand (see me goofing off) and b) he is the minion of 4 other people, all of whom are just fine with how fast he works and c) I clearly goof off a lot at work, but I also work super fast. But I just want to poke him with a stick and shout "MOVE FASTER", because he works at the same plodding speed despite any urgency in the task

Someone posted in one of the threads that they are having a repeat showing this weekend (or sometime this week).
Seriously- he is still cleaning up from this lunch!!! It is a tiny room with a tiny lunch and I already picked up the garbage and took it to the dumpster before he started.
Did someone replace his regular coffee with decaf, Sophia? Or possibly nyquil?
Hmmm. He is anti-caffeine. Perhaps that explains it!
