Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I just got a coworker all of the cooking utensils off her registry because the only other things left that I could afford were like literally one wine glass. (The affordable ones had already been purchased...)

I am positive she wants that stuff too! That's a good gift!

Mickey Rourke is a hot ticket right now. He's getting Oscar buzz for The Wrestler.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Phew! I just couldn't bring myself to buy them one sheet. (Even though other people had already gotten the flat sheet and the pillow cases. One fitted sheet is not a present!)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I figure if it's on the registry I shouldn't think too hard about how gifty it seems. It's hard, though. But Marc swears every time they have pie he thinks of me. Damned expensive pie lifter thingy, that was.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have things I should be doing this morning, but I'm too busy hating the world.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just got a mislabeled sandwich at Au Bon Pain. What I got was fine, but it was not what I wanted! I sent them an email -- we'll see what they give me.

Because books.

I have things I should be doing this morning, but I'm too busy hating the world.

I find that can take up most of a Monday.

This is weird. I'm working with a man--I presume--named Sambo. By the last name, he probably wasn't born in this country. I have no idea how old he is, naturally, so I'm just assuming that the word Sambo has none of the cultural baggage it does here. I'm glad I'm not talking to him on the phone, because I don't know if I could call him Sambo without stumbling over it. How odd to have a name which is probably perfectly normal where he comes from but whic makes some people twitch where he lives now.

Punishingly Intricate

My guess is coupon for a new sandwich!

I won this karaoke competition at my neighborhood festival last year and I will be a judge and also do a song to start off the competition this year. It's this Saturday and I can't think of what song to do AT ALL! I want a sort of upbeat rocker that the crowd will know but that's also unexpected. Any ideas????

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, that would be distincly weird.
