For the longest time, I've always put down my parents as emergency contacts for me (for the cats, always have had someone local who also has cats.) It's not practical, but I didn't know who else. And today, I was like DUH. L. Yeah, they have 3 kids and I never wanted to inconvenience them. But I need someone local, and fergawdsake. She'd know to contact the parents. I've been a part of their lives for 11 years, and seen her in childbirth, ALL OF IT.
I know if I were in a situation where I'd need to stay with people who could watch over me (thinking injury/recovery where I shouldn't be home alone) on a temp basis, she'd swoop in and install me in one of the kids' bedrooms and stuff my cats in there with me. Lord knows, I'd move in with them if they found themselves in the same situation.
So. I need to update my contacts.
One of these days, I'm going to see the tape of the birth and discover all the inane shit I probably said. Oh & she volunteered to film when I have a kid. Yeah, no. Not planning on kids, and even if I did, I don't think I want a film of it. Not my thing. But if it was, I'd take her up on it.

I am in a hotel! I had to wait extra to get a room with a king-sized bed, but I didn't really want one. Not sure how that happened, but whatever, I'm here now, the internet is free, and SYTYCD is on the TV. Could be worse.
