"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Will nobody think of the honeymoon?!

My brain apparently refused to retain the memory of Galactica 1980 and the flying motorcycles and the glayvin.

Your link leads to nothing, David.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fixed!

Now with bonus Tron Lightbike scene.

All inspired by the IO9 article on cool science fiction motorcycles. (And much bitching in the comments about not including the Akira motorcycle.)

Speaking of Tron, has anybody had a more interesting film career than Jeff Bridges in the last 30 years?

Everything from Tron to Cutter's Way to Lebowski to American Heart to Fisher King to Iron Man to Thunderbolt and Lightfoot to The Last Picture Show to Starman.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have avoided rain so far, but it is humid as fuck. It is raining now and I am not home, so my chances of staying dry seem slim.

Karate was a hit (pun intended)n you might say he got a kick out of it.

Thanks, I'll be here all week.

I remember how amazingly awesome that scene looked when it came out. Nobody had ever really seen anything like it before.

It looks considerably less awesome these days.

According to the comments (gleaned from the DVD, I guess) that was 8,000 lines of code on a supercomputer.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

(And much bitching in the comments about not including the Akira motorcycle.)

Well, it is a damn cool motorcycle.

This motorcycle (Polaris Victory Vision Tour) was apparently inspired by Flash Gordon. It looks interesting and comfortable, but there's no way in hell I'd be riding that behemoth.

Bluetooth-enabled helmets. Eh. I just want a MP3-compatible one, but I can keep riding with my headphones. I'm iffy on spending an extra $150 or so for the electronics.

Sweet bike!

How do people feel about the Honda 2004 Rune?

The styling or the performance? I'm not a big fan of the styling - it looks too much like it's actually trying to be a bullet. I haven't seen many of those around, actually - I'm more likely to see the H-D V-Rod.

There's a 2001 Triumph Bonneville for sale near my work that I'm drooling over. It's not my favored style, but it's very pretty.
