Wanted posters are up for my kitty (made the mistake of putting them together *before* I finished working, because then I just started balling and couldn't concentrate or speak to my coworkers and generally avoided them altogether lest the waterworks begin again). But they're up, and amazingly I didn't cry doing so, hit the local vets and grocery stores and pet shops and called around to the animal shelters and even craigslisted it and got some helpful responses there as to the steps I can take.
Unfortunately I work from 6am till 7pm tomorrow, so not much more I can do until Saturday. Still need to get in touch with the police and animal control and physically visit the shelters myself since the vet informed me that they'll lie over the phone about not having your pet.
But now I feel a little more hopeful now that I'm being productive and not mooning over the balcony railing thinking that the bluejays are my Ply stuck in the tree or that she's the bunnies under the bushes.
Seriously, how do parents of actual human children survive this?
Thanks again, everyone, for the ~ma
So happy to hear that outcome, Allyson! What a relief for your family.
I have a Timbuk2 backpack that holds a laptop that I use for my daily bag when I'm in school. It rules.
{{{Juliebird}}} I hope your kitty comes home soon!
Oh gah. I really really really want to go home and write. I'm feeling horribly trapped, here.
Yay, Allyson!! I am so glad that everything worked out like it was supposed to.
{{{Juliebird}}} Honey, I hope she comes home very soon. I'd be a totel wreck, too.
Great news, Allyson! (Uh, the earlier news. Not the trapped.)
Very long day today. I think I managed to fix most of what got trashed last weekend. My teeth hurt because I'd been clenching them all day.
I am eating a huge bowl of fruit salad: banana, strawberry, grape, small orange citrus and ranier cherries. Courtesy of my friend L. She brought me all but the cherries, plus avocados, a beautiful scarf, some bangles and a framed picture of me holding newborn T. Oh & an orchid plant I'll keep at work and try desperately not to kill. It's gorgeous. No specific occasion, just in appreciation. She's a total sweetheart! And about made me cry at work.
I probably should add some protein to dinner.
My favorite drink of the summer: Taco Bell's Strawberry/Mango Fruitista! Yes, some of it is the name.
Very glad for you Allyson!

Now that is being a thoughtful friend. Cool.

We have dark grey clouds over us right now--looks like we're going to get a doozy of a thunderstorm pretty soon.
Right now there is bright sunshine but this morning during my drive into work, we had fog so thick it was skeery. ::shiver::
I have blueberry buckle in the oven.
What is blueberry buckle?
Sort of like... blueberry coffee cake?
