Billytea! I went to a lecture last night by a scientist who's an expert on smell. She told us all about the Australian orchid that spreads its pollen by emitting pheromones that make male wasps want to hump it.

Is that the one that's evolved to look kind of like a female wasp landing strip too? It's quite cute really. Wasps are such uncomplicated creatures. Eat it, hump it or sting it, and then eat it or hump it.

I'm doing a lot of fruitless offering. But do you need anything? Is there anything I can do? The house across the street from ours was on fire. I was most worried that we would be blocked in by fire trucks, thus making me late for day care pick up.

Fire trucks are now all gone.
