Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Interesting conversation last night between my Mom and my Sister:

Sister: So if Trig IS Bristol's also, why does a kid get pregnant a SECOND time?

Mom: Because they took her baby the first time.

Which, yeah, makes sense. That poor kid. She's nobody's priority.

Jon Stewart last night talked about why he considers Bristol's pregnancy fair game. He and Newt Gingrich went back and forth on it a bit.

And since Stewart actually IS comedy I can see his point. And I note that he hasn't been nasty to Bristol. He's not calling her a slut or an idiot. He's not mocking her. It's not a tenth of what actual News people (and Senators) had to say about poor Chelsea. And it is arguably relevant.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I'd love to hear Keith and Rachel skewering the Republican talking points

Watch Countdown on Friday night. I suspect there will be much skewering.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Here's the TDS clip. [link]

I'm amazed at how many people on unrelated podcasts I listen to talk about going to DragonCon. None of these podcasts are about Science Fiction shows/movies or Comic Books.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Flying Spaghetti Monster was there last year too. I got a picture and was touched by (her) noodly appendage.

Iron Man also got a big laugh.

Always Anti-fascist!

When KO said "Tracy Flick" it was funny to watch the other newsguys, because it was like they heard or read the name, but couldn't place her. I love it when he does that.
