Yup, they got him a haircut. And dressed him & Bristol like they're middle aged. Also: Cindy McCain, lay off the orange dye on your legs, or I'll tell the Fug Girls.

So, I'm not done with the superficial for today...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That's my superficial thought for the day.

You limit yourself to one?

eta: HEE nice x-post

I just deny the rest as much as possible. What did you learn in law school?

“Not dead yet!”

Yup, they got him a haircut. And dressed him & Bristol like they're middle aged.

ACK-- in that first picture, did it not look like McCain was reaching out to pat her belly??

And Cindy looks like a bad drag queen.

Also, Cindy honey, with your money you should be able to find a stylist who won't fry your hair.

information libertarian

as far as I understand it, he's already the primary caregiver.

Nope, Todd Palin works alternate weeks on the North Slope (I've also seen that he's a commercial fisherman; maybe these are alternate seasons?) She said he'd quit when she was elected governor, but he didn't. Apparently her mother is the primary caregiver.

ETA: I am totally digging Piper Palin, though. That kid is a little ham. A great age - everything's an adventure, no down side to this if you're not shy.

Aaaand yes I was going to stop looking at news.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The caption on that picture is a little tacky:

the young man the campaign said that she plans to marry

Don't they mean "her fiance"?

I mean, I personally think she's appalling, and from the far outside a number of her choices seem highly questionable. But this idea that her family situation is ipso facto a bar to higher office is bullshit.

Totally.

I don't actually CARE about Bristol Palin being pregnant. I feel sorry for her having to go through this in a public forum and I think if she gets dragged out on the campaign trail it's going to be cruel (physically at the very least). What I care about is what Sarah Palin does as a public official ... and what I've heard is scarey. And considering McCain's age and health, she might well end up running the country - which is really scarey.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Todd Palin works alternate weeks on the North Slope (I've also seen that he's a commercial fisherman; maybe these are alternate seasons?)

The week-on, week-off (or 2 weeks-on, 2 weeks-off) schedule is very common on the Slope, which also gives him time to go out on Bristol Bay to grab salmon.

I need to step. away. from the news, and especially the commentators. If I hear one more damn dogsled joke, it'll be too soon.
