Natter 60: Gone In 60 Seconds
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Just to play devil's advocate...would we be having the same discussions if Palin had a penis instead of a vagina?
Well, I used a man in my examples.
But, I also think the sad reality is that caregiving duties are not generally shared 50-50, nor do many people think they should be. And, as a politician, you have to deal with that reality.
A male VP candidate with a 4 month old Downs baby and a 17 year old pregnant daughter would NOT cause the same stir.
Possibly not the Downs portion, but I think the 17-year-old unmarried daughter would still be a point, especially Dad was big in "abstinence is the only way" etc. Kind of like Larry Craig's wide stance.

Actually, it would only bug me if the male candidate believed in abstinence only sex ed. and it only bugs because I prefer a candidate with a grasp of reality

I'd like to think the pregnant daughter would cause the same issue. I don't get the Down's stir, so I can't comment on it.
Watching 90210 I think my favourites are easy ones: Naveed and Ryan. I totally loved Linda Gray but I doubt we'll see that much of her. And how obvious was it that the pentapus was going to show up again?
Oddly I'm noticing our lead adults switch sides in bed.
yes, the child that has downs syndrome isn't really an issue for me. Not sure why it is to anyone.

I'm with you there, but I think people who *really* believe that God only sends you what you can bear tend to sanctify parents of children with special needs. "Oh how brave." "Aren't you just so strong." "What a loving, caring mom." Parents of special needs kids are "better people," somehow, than parents of regular old kids.
It isn't pretty, damnit, but it's there. Especially among church folk.

Totally love Naveed. It's not as fun as Gossip Girl, but I enjoyed it.

Am I really going to have to watch GG for my proper fix of the genre?
Ryan's totally textbook for his role of hot youngish teacher, but I can't help myself.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Consuela.
