And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

She just assoumed that, since Palin is a wonam, she's pro-choice and for womens rights alnd all of that.

Since McCain presumably picked her to appeal to ultra right-wingers who think he's too much of a maverick, I doubt this impression will last another news cycle.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

FCM: Ewen McGregor, David Tennant, James McAvoy

Um... F all of them. Repeatedly. Become a bigamist with Ewan and James.

Yeah, no, that one leaves me rather lost. Phyllis Schlafly, anyone?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't know... I know nothing about Palin, but my impression of Alaskan residents in general doesn't scream "ultra-conservative." I thought McCain might be taking that demographic for granted (whatever his maverick reputation, surely those voters won't switch their support to Obama) and presenting a more modern, women's rights-friendly running mate.

A waitress almost scared me off my first ever nummy green papaya salad tonight. Generally speaking, when someone in a Thai restaurant looks at me sideways and asks if I'm sure I want something, I take the hint. I'm glad I stuck it out though—it was very good, even if it wasn't quite like anything I've ever eaten before.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm glad she failed. I suspect that the issue with som tum is that a lot of people see "papaya" and expect "sweet tropical fruit-punchy", not that it's unusually spicy for Thai food (at least not when I've had it).

Also, YUM.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

School supplies are labeled and packed for the first day. School clothes, however, did not get all laid out. Mac and I are both adjusting to 2 less people being around.

Change is hard for my little noodle, but he is keeping it together so far.

Hope that he keeps on keeping.

I am working on being more present and not making "angry voice". He really is progressing at defusing himself if I don't get angry (which escalates him). Being silly helps if I catch him early enough. Being still and a soothing voice seems to help if he gets too far down the path.

That's good! Hard, but good. Acting as his center until he can find it himself.
