So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I've got McCain's speech on right now (what? I'm off work and thought the noon news was on), and I'm chagrined to think that Palin is a hottie. She's SO the type I always go for.

Really? She looks like she doesn't have two brain cells to rub together to me. Kind of vacant and stupid, like a head of cattle.

Punishingly Intricate

It must be noted to his credit though that he approached every game during the all-star run the same way. "I've got a good feeling about this game. I think we're going to win." Which turned out to be true.

I like this approach! I use it for shows too. THIS SHOW IS GOING TO ROCK!!!! and, frankly, some are better than others but in 5 years I don't think we've had one show that didn't rock.

Nah, I just meant physically. Dark hair, dark eyes, glasses. I think the first, in college, was Natalie Merchant.

Palin does look stupid, but if I'm going to objectify her pulchritude, I don't need to know if she's smart. (Plus, it's fun to crush on someone who is so violently anti-gay. Ha! I'm a woman and I think you're hot AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME!!! ....okay, that's not the best anti-McCain strategy, but give me a break; I've only been awake for an hour.)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm curious why anyone thinks "I was for Hillary. There are some Hillary supporters so bitter they will vote for McCain. Ergo, I will vote for McCain (or stay home on election day)." Wishful Repub thinking? Because my reaction, unless I was one of the allegedly bitter, would be to make sure I got out to vote for Obama.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I was watching the speech and gchatted to Bob Bob that McCain had chosen Tina Fey as his running mate. He thought I was joking, then he clicked to CNN.com. For a second he realized that what I had said was true. His head almost exploded when he saw the picture, until he looked at the headline.

So yeah, I get that she's pretty cute, though she seems really uncharismatic. Hate that voice.

McCain had chosen Tina Fey as his running mate.

That's *totally* the source of her physical appeal!

Hate that voice.

I was actually expecting a Tina Fey voice!

And reading some article this morning, seeing "maverick" repeated over and over, is making me want to watch Top Gun. I have it on tape somewhere in the house.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Hee--this was amusing (from DailyKos):

Sen. Chuck Schumer came by the Big Tent on Thursday to field various questions from bloggers. He discussed U.S. Senate races (in his capacity as DSCC chair), party unity (he was very impressed with President Clinton's speech last night), the dynamic presidential ticket (he believes Obama can win "by 300 electoral votes", though he may have meant to say Obama can clear 300 electoral votes), and various similar questions.

Senator Schumer was accompanied by a pair of staffers, evidently tasked with keeping the Senator presentable, ensuring he eats right, things like that.

After the conclusion of his session, the Senator headed towards the exit on his way to another Democratic event, presumably with relatively classy and expensive free food.

On the way out, he espied the Big Tent's food table. His eyes lit up.

"There's pizza? Is it OK if I have a slice?"

"Uhhhh...sure, Senator", replied the Big Tent staffer at hand.

Meanwhile, Schumer's handlers went ballistic. "No! No, Chuck, it's OK! We're eating in 45 minutes! At the reception! There'll be food there! No pizza!"

Schumer turned around with a slice of pepperoni in his hand and a sheepish grin on his face, as if to say, "But I don't want reception food, I want pizza!"
