Our wings are not tired.

The PBS crew isn't too annoying. I still do other stuff when they do the talky thing.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

School for us was always from the Wednesday after Labor Day until around June 25 or so. The teachers in AP classes always complained that the schools in the South ended up with an extra month of classes before the AP exams in May. (But on the other hand, we had a free month after the exams. In American Politics, we did a unit on political cartoons. In Calculus, we learned how to play bridge.)

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

we had a free month after the exams.

My AP European History class played "Trivial Pursuit". We had an incredible tournament, teams, individual play offs, etc. Good times, good times.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

In Calculus, we learned how to play bridge.)

Replace calc with physics and bridge with hearts and this is me.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks for all of the sweet words about Buffy and Karen, y'all. I am pretty damned stoked about it. I can't wait to go get the license with them tomorrow at City Hall.

GG, that sounds like a fantastic European history class!

“Not dead yet!”

It's official. I suck as a parent of school-aged children. I just had to fill out two sets of forms that, outside of the health forms, seemed like the most ridiculous, absurd, wastes of dead trees.

I resented the hell out of it, scrawling my signature over and over and writing checks, especially the one where I had to write a check to freakin' opt out of fundraising. I mean, thank goodness we have the option to opt out, but the whole requiring kids to fundraise made me twitch. (This is fundraising on top of the "Spirit Wear Sales" the PTO does anyway.)

I fell old and crotchety in that "When I was in school the only fund raising we did was for extracurriculars like Girl Scouts and band."

Feh. PMS.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

so tonight is the first night all week that I didn't have dinner plans with shrift, which is sad enough on it's own, but I figured I would do good stuff like laundry and vacuum and watch the DNC.

This plan was foiled first by the fact that I got my vividcon DVDs today, and then by the fact that the whole street has no power and won't until after 9.
