My colander is nailed to the wall...Or rather, hung on a nail. On the wall. Along with both my cutting boards.
At least, when they're in the place they're supposed to be. I think they're usually in the sink or the dishwasher, and occasionally in the drying rack.
Too much Simonverse for me:
Somebody was all "The Western..." and my brain filled in "District"
I swear.
And I've never really been there.
If I said that anywhere but here, I'd be riding the Haldol Express.
Not surprisingly, the desert has never really seemed like home.
Jilli, what is your new mascara love?
Jilli, what is your new mascara love?
Honestly? Wet&Wild MegaLength Double Action mascara. I don't bother with the lash extender part, because the mascara itself is very good. It's *almost* as good as DiorShow, but at about 10% of the cost.
10% of the cost sounds groovy to me.
Waah. My car is off getting $800+ of repairs untill tomorrow and I don't even have a rental and my knee is busted. I guess I'm cabbing it for the next little.
Alexander Brook's illustrations for Modess booklet 'How Shall I Tell My Daughter?', 1954
One that I found intriguing was this booklet from 1954, "... Published for mothers by Personal Products Corporation, Milltown, New Jersey, makers of Modess".
This was one of many such booklets advertised in women's magazines over the years, so moms could send away for information to help them explain the process of menstruation to their growing daughters.
What struck me here, however, was the overwhelmingly somber tone to the illustrations in this particular edition, the work of Alexander Brook, "... one of America's foremost painters."
Divorced of context, these painted illustrations are more than a little bit creepy.
As long as we're on vistas, here's one from the Tuscon area that I love:

Great Halloween costume: Two Headed Baby Demon
One body, two heads, and ready to FEED. One of the creepiest babies we've seen in a long time. Latex half-torso prop can also be used as a puppet. Includes blanket.
Timelies all!
Not really an outdoors type of person, though I guess I'm closer to being an ocean person than a mountain person.(Even if I did have to go to the next state to see the ocean when I was growing up. More often I went to Ocean Beach, which is actually on the Sound.)
