Natter 60: Gone In 60 Seconds
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Noah and I were at the park on a playgroup thing. Safest place to be. A mom freaked for a few a seconds and then got over it. Haven't felt any aftershocks.

We'll have to wait for the system to update before we get the 5.8
Wichita
I grew up in Topeka and my parents still live there. I haven't been to Wichita much however. The last time I spent any time there was when I was on the turnpike painting crew for a summer.

Like the lineman?
UM, bigger upset: Scrabulous is disabled now? BUT Jesse and I hadn't finished our game and I was actually winning.
WAH!
Anyone ever had lightning strike close by (or been hit by it)? Once I was driving at night from Green Bay to Clintonville during a storm, and lightning struck the highway about 20 feet in front of me. I was blinded for a few seconds - that was scary.
It was weird - I could see sparks where the lightning hit the road.
I used to go over to Topeka to the mega mall while I was going to KU before Lawrence got their mall. That was always fun.
Like the lineman?
Yep. They're still on the line.
When I was on a highway survey crew some lightning hit an oil rig about 100 feet away from us. That's when the boss decided to pack it in until the stormed passed over.
That WOULD be scary! I've been in quite a few lightning storms, but closest I've been is when a bolt hit a transformer down the street -- BIG boom!
And one time lightning hit the tree (and the car) in my parent's front yard when I was on the phone talking to her. Fried it's electrical system.
