So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Hivemind question: how much do you pay for a (salon) haircut? I am in need and the trendy-looking places I've been recommended start at $40-45. And it's not like this is the big city! Was I just spoiled by $25 Bobby? I miss Bobby.

Yeah, you were spoiled. I pay between $20-25 for a barbershop cut. The only time I recall going to a salon salon, it was almost a decade ago, and around $45 for a crummy salon.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I need a haircut badly, too. Err. I badly need a haircut. Because of how the last hair was cut badly. But I'm askeered to find a new stylist, no matter what the cost.

Punishingly Intricate

I pay a lot for my hair. But, well, my excuse is that I only get it cut & dyed about 3-4 times a year. And bang trim is only $5.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Right now I feel weird thinking about hair, though, because the guy who cut mine for most of my adult life back in Indianapolis (and who was our best man and who drove me to work for a year when we first moved there, really, a good friend) just had a bizarre tragedy happen. His kid's mom was just found dead of unknown causes. They're thinking some strange interaction of drugs; she had cancer and something else I can't remember.

Just awful.

Oops, not the most respectful thing to post after news of a tragedy—unfortunate timing.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Someone linked to that yesterday. Unless that was a different inflatable dog turd that ran amok....

No, Matt, you can repost. Natter should run around stuff, it's all fine. I don't wanna bring everyone down!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hi.

I can't believe I'm so tired. I don't do anything. Including cut and colour my hair, which I really should get on top of.

FYI, our IT folks just issued an alert that there's some nasty virus going around masquerading as breaking news alerts from CNN and MSNBC, with varying headline - if you get one of these, might be best to not click the link.
